I had to get more fish in the frame- especially considering Powder Blue and Achilles aren't easy to keep :)

Incidentally, you'd never guess which of these fish is the most destructive in my aquarium.

Whats your powder blue terrorizing coral wise?

Does he only assert himself/herself to fish added after him/her or anyone who dares cross his/her path? I'm looking at doing a 6 foot in wall tank, (sometime next year....God willing and the creek don't rise), and the wife loves the way PBT's look.

PBT messes with anyone and everyone- even the Emperor (although the Angelfish is undisputed king of the aquarium.)
It also sucks on the tentacles of my torch corals.
It's getting to the point where it might be causing some permanenet damage to the coral.

along the lines of "softies" I have Sarcophyton and Zoanthids. Nobody bothers 'em. I'll probably shift the Torch corals around and see if I can find a spot where the PBT doesn't bother them.

Hey Gary....Did you QT either the PBT or the Achilles?

What do you attribute your success to keeping the Achilles as being?

Thanks
Scott

both of those fishes were in captivity for quite some time before I got them, Scott.
One not-so-secret secret for Achilles: feed nori- lots of it. I also use an auto feeder with pellet foods. I believe the Achilles is in better shape now then when I got it.
Both PBT and Achilles need room to swim and I don't believe those two fish ever stop swimming around- even at night. My aquarium has a lot of strong water flow and really good oxygenation. I think it helps to have some algae to pick at, too.

Thanks Gary, Now that I'm sans Angel I need a show stopper fish. I've been made aware of an Achilles that I can get that is from a very good collecter and is great shape.

Bummer is I don't really have anything setup for QT.

I've had Achilles in the past. They're not easy.
I would never have attempted another in my reef aquarium if it wasn't QT'd and/or healthy from another person's aquarium. (This one was in captivity for two years before I got it.)
Achilles come in from Hawaii'. The collectors are good. It's what happens after the collector ships the fish that matters most.
It might be worth setting up a QT for an Achilles.

one of my (on/off) MJ's has a venturi on it- those are microbubbles. I need to take a decent video. You need to see the water flow in this aquarium.
