Good enough reason for sand!
The availability lists from Sea Dwelling Creatures are using scientific names lately. MAC certified fish are also noted. This doesn't really guarantee anything, but it's definitely a step in the right direction. Here are my new MAC certified WC Percs.

We must be seeing completely different availability lists ... come to think of it how are you seeing it?

You know Brian you are not the only one who gets see SDC's wholesale list.Or for that matter other wholesale list...Such as ORA:D

Some amazing photgraphs Gary. Do you use a tripod, flash etc. I have a Canon G-5 which is an excellent camera. One step down from canons SLR Digital Rebel series but try as I might I just can't get those kind of money shots. Even with photoshop enhancements:) Nice job on the new tank!

Thanks for the kind words. I really wish I had a better camera. As you might already know, I use a stock "cheapo" Powershot Canon A510. The only time I used a tripod was for my TOTM article- I usually steady the camera against the aquarium glass if possible. I don't have Photoshop. I use irfanview to crop/resize and adjust minor details. Most of my pics to date have been taken using flash and autofocus. I've just started to play with the camera's manual adjustment settings.

I have been kicking around the idea of getting a larger tank, when i can return to work, becuse of those anthias. Just read an article in Coral mag on them and i really would like to get a schooling fish but i dont have the room in the 65 obvisously.

The Anthias are Bartlett's. I want to add a few more in the upcoming months- maybe some Dispar, too. I've always wanted them since I first read Scott Michaels 'Reef Fishes Vol. I'. I rigged up an autofeeder so they get fed automatically twice a day. The feeder dispenses food directly into the intake of my main circulation pump and the food blows out into the aquarium via the two water returns. The feeding frenzy action is kewl. It'll grab the attention of anyone in the room that doesn't know what's going on. I also give them some additional food daily.

What kind of food do you put in the feeder Gary?
That's a good idea about droping the food into the pump intake.

Right now I'm using (small size) VibraGro pellets in the autofeeder. I hear VibraGro has been discontinued and I'm looking for a similar (pelletized) food product. Any suggestions would be welcome. IME pellets go down the funnel and PVC leading to the pump intake much better than flake foods.

Gary, My anthias used to love the Ocean Nutrition pellets (both Formula 1 and 2). I believe they sell that food in flake, small pellet and medium pellet. She also loved both frozen and dried cyclopeeze.

Spectrum Marine pellets look and smell just like Vibragro--tiny pellets that work well in my autofeeder (which BTW may have cured whoever was acro nipping). Seems like this product took the place of Vibragro at Premium Aquatics--could it be same stuff, different label?
It's even the same pricing.
So you hooked up an autofeeder and it cured the acro nipping? That is great news, John! :)
Spectrum and/or ON pellets look like the answer to my prayers. I'm sure the Anthias will eat either.

Wow Gary....That's a great thread. Beautiful pictures!!!!

When you get a new and improved camera, can I have your stock "cheapo" Powershot Canon A510??? I'm using a Samsung camera phone. Everytime I snap a picture, George Eastman rolls over...
