new "canvas"

apparently (knock on wood!) my problem with the Emperor nipping clams has been solved.
Now I need to work on another nemesis. I'm going to try and eliminate the "thread curse" and post about it right now.
This is a "pre-enjoyed" Powder Blue Tang. I've been watching it for many months at MO- in fact, I almost added this very same fish to my aquarium before the Emperor, but I figured it would be better to introduce the Emperor first. I know the aquarium it came from. This fish has been through hell and it has a very strong will to survive. Hopefully I can help clear up it's HILLE and keep it alive for a very long time.

Yikes!!!!!! Good luck. If that works out how about a Regal Angel or a Moorish idol
No and no :)
Based on what I've seen so far this will work out. The Emperor will remain "kingfish" in my aquarium. The PBT is second in ranking.

looking good Gary!! so you decided to get the PBT huh?.... good decision, always a sweet addition...that hell it lived thru is over, and now its gonna have the sweet spoiled life!

I've got a Regal I've had for a year as of this month....;)

Wouldnt suggest going for a MI though...

Good luck with the PBT Gary, I'm sure it will heal up just fine. I'm assuming it is the last fish in the tank?

Whats the history with this particular fish?

Nick

This particular PBT is 5". It was living in a FO system until the person added a large Queen Angelfish. (Holocanthus in general are very belligerent.) It was trapped out and returned to the LFS where it went up again for sale. It's holding tank at the LFS was a 40 breeder that saw an endless rotation of fishes pass through it. (Not exactly the type of environment you'd want to purchase a fish from, right?)
This PBT would not die. I'd see it week after week and marvel at it's will to live- it sat there month after month.
Finally, I broke down.
If I could make the wild claim to have abilities to judge fish moods, I'd say it looks very happy right now in my aquarium.

I was just kidding around. Hope this one does good. Every six foot tank needs an Acanthuras Sp.

If anyone in Rochester could make that claim, it would be you Gary. As always, nice looking tank shots, and beautiful fish.

Very Nice Gary as always. The growth rate of the corals in your tank is amazing. The PBT is beautiful. What lights are running in these two pics? Are they your actinics? If so what is the trick to getting the colors to look natural and not so blue?

Henry- the last two pics are lit by actinics, a 400w Hamilton 14k and low level camera flash. Shutter speed was 1/80 sec. and the f-stop was at 2.6

The FTS with the Emperor was taken with that exact same lighting combo AND two 250w Hamilton 10k's.
