new carpet anemone, How often to feed

Hello,

I got a great deal on this carpet anemone, $39.00 just couldn't pass it up.... He lost a little color but is coming back pretty quickly... Question is how often should I feed it? I fed it yesterday and today I gave him a 1/2 of a jumbo shrimp and he gobbled it up like he has never eaten... He is quite large, about 12 inches across when open... I just want to make sure he is happy and not eat my fish.... Any help would b greatly appreciated...

very cool! And good deal! My friend who has one feeds hers 1-2 times per week. She says if it grabs the shrimp, its hungry. There have been a couple times it ignored the food. Good luck!

Yes I thought it was a great deal considering most places wanted $80 and up...

I think I will wait a couple of days now and feed it again....

He as probably hungry from being at the lfs because I do not think they fed it for the week it was there...

If you feed every other day or so, the anemone (Stichodactyla haddoni) will grow very fast. You can slow that growth rate down by feeding less frequently.

i dont think there is a way to stop it eating you fish

Mine ( have two ) get feed about twice a mouth. Enough to keep them healthy and growing, but at a very slow rate.

Try soaking the food in some type of vitiman. I use viti chem and soak muscles for my Haddoni.
