Can you please ID my new anemone and tell me what health is he in? Been in my tank for 24 hours.. Doesn't appear to have planted his foot that's why I have a tube hold him in place.. Thanks

We know that infection in these guys pass on from one anemone to another. Adding a new possibly sick anemone to a tank with a healthy anemone, you will risk death to your healthy anemone. I would not do it. I killed two very nice and expensive Magnifica and a very beautiful Green Haddoni doing this. You are not the first reefer who does this nor will you be the last.

I highly recommend that you take him out to QT until you are sure that he is not sick.

You should set up your QT such that it will not stress your anemone short term 1-4 weeks. All kinda late now but good luck with him.

He looks stressed as is. He may start or already deflates once or twice which is purging his infection out to your tank water. These bacterial will get ingest by your other anemone which may or may not get him sick. Antibiotic treatment is the best thing you can get ahead of time to use in case your healthy anemone got sick.

Antibiotic treatment ASAP is what I recommend for you new anemone. Early treatment is the different between life and death for these guys.

I agree I'm just so undecided.. Take a look at these two pictures one is just minutes after the lights went on and the other is an hour in to the lights being on.. Why would he be so bad when lights come on? All night he is huge..
