I agree with Gary's ID. I don't know a lot of info, but there have been reports of them eating clownfish. I can't confirm that however.

I think these type of anemones are cool. I would try Clarkii clowns for this type of carpet. They host anything and I have yet to read reports saying that their Clarkiis were eaten by their carpet or any anemone for that matter. If you get Clarkiis, nature will find a way to live. Keep the anemone and try it. Thats how we learn... by trying new things out. ;)

i allready have juvenile rodonyx hosting in a frogspawn i would hate to lose one but it probobly wont happen i like it and think i will keep it im setting up my 50 for a magnifica for them sometime in january

i wouldnt chance it anything thats not a natural host for clowns can always see a clown as a tastey snack.

i wouldnt chance it yes it may work long term / it may work short term and your fish get eaten / it may not work and the first time the fish tries it gets eaten.

up to you to but i really wouldnt

Helianthus was the first carpet anemone I ever owned. I sold it to a fellow reefer who told me his tomato clown hosted.
I'd be cautious however. . .here's a pic:

i am just looking out for my clowns i would not want Rod Buehler to see that i let one of his very cool fish die
they are doing great Rod by the way The female has no third stripe but im hoping it will come soon

Its a Atlantic Sun Anemone or Stichodactyla helianthusfor sure.. It will eat any clown that wants to be hosted by it. Maybe not right away but it will.. They are very agressive and will take any opportunity to eat any fish. They are extremely strong stingers too. Be carefull. It took me 2 hours to get mine out of my tank. I can't beleive it didn't die I had to be so rough with it. They are very hardy though. Here's a pic of the one I had. Its too bad they are a beautiful animal.

I had one and it died quite suddenly. I was so bummed! I had a tank set up just for it, and it seemed to be doing so well, but then POOF! and it disintegrated into a lifeless slime blob. You say yours is gone, what did you do with it, if you don't mind me asking?
