The ORA ducans look the best. The other ducans are dropping in price by a lot. Have the ORA ducans dropped also?
You can try to build a lil cage over the ducan from egg crate to see if its really the clowns. To give the ducan a chance not to be bothered...just an idea
Kind of worried now, looks like someone took a chunk out the roes, and the ora still closed but getting two babies out, I built a cage and hopefully I can figure it out who did it, my prime suspect is the fox face it was added about 3 weeks ago but not sure, second the saifin tang.
They looked beautiful couple days ago :mad2:
I had a hermit knock an encrusting monti on top of my ORA a few weeks after I got it... The injured spot started to turn brown with jelly over it... I ended up supergluing over the damaged area after cleaning it off with a powerhead... I now have the original head healed and 3 baby polyps...
The DFS duncan hasn't had any set backs so I have about 5 babies in addition to the original head...
I also have an Aussie Duncan I got as a freebie from Miguel at Fraggle Reef... I've only had that one for a couple weeks... I'll try and get some pics of it later...
WOW! That's a lot of duncans! Why is the price range so big? I just bought my wife 6 Aussie duncan polyps and paid $60. I have seen them way more than that. Whats the deal?
beautifull coral reefplayer!! mine two duncans for some reason still not opening they open just a little but not like they used to. What are you guys keeping your alk at?
They are photosynthetic, so you don't necessarily have to feed them... Mine like moderate flow and pretty high lighting... Mine "bloom" all the time... Of course I feed mine a few times a week to encourage growth!!! I'll try and get some updated pics later today or tomorrow...
As far as Duncans go, I think direct feeding is essential. I feed mine every other day.
Flow is around 3000gph in each of my 90 gal tanks
Light is also important. These guys can really take the light. I keep all mine in the top 10 inches of water and some are only 4 inches down with dual 250W 20K SE metal halides.
Be careful though, I did light shock two small colonies of my Duncans pretty bad and now they keep their tentacles balled up during the day and only extend out fully at night. I did get some bleaching, but am expecting awesome colonies after they finish aclimating into my tank.
