new foxface question

I feel goofy asking this but better safe than sorry. I have a new 3" one-spot FF that i added to my DT the other night (went through TTM and 30 day QT and ate everything i threw at him). I've got some GHA i've been battling and it looks like he's wasted no time attacking it. My concern is this, can he eat so much he makes himself sick? LOL i saw him last night before lights out and his stomach was bulging and he pooped right in front of me and it look just like he was "exporting" GHA, not poop. He's obviously doing what i had hoped, just never having a fish that ate algae, i want to make sure there isn't anything i need to keep an eye out for.

I don't think so. My ff had algae all the time. It still ate pellet food, but never touched the meaty foods. I think that's what they are meant to eat. Algae. They're herbivores.

I haven't heard of none predator fish eating themselves to death but I suppose anything is possible

they are food hogs. I put a clip of nori and my one spot doesn't leave much for the other fish. when I get ready to add food, he will come to the surface and spit water at me until I pour the food in.

You're lucky. My foxface isn't eating the hair algae that has taken off recently in my tank. He eats everything I feed, and is such a good eater that I have to feed a lot at one time to make sure my other fish have a chance to get some food. He's an eating machine and is as fat as George Costanza's wallet. I like him but sometimes I regret getting a fish that eats 80% of the food that goes into the tank and grows so big so fast.

Seems normal to me. When it comes to elimination, aka pooping, a FF is like having an elephant in the tank.
