Just took delivery of a new scoly yesterday. Pics do not do it justice. Amazing! It has doubled in size since I got it. Think it is stilling going. It is almost touching a coule of brain corals. Should I be concerned? It seems really happy. Would prefer not to move it.

Acanthophyllia (not Scolymia, just so you're aware) can blow up really big. The one you've got there has the potential to expand a good 8-10" across, and you don't want it to touch anything else. The Acanth isn't terribly aggressive, but the Lobo to the left could sting it. I can't tell what is to the right, but if its another LPS it probably shouldn't be allowed to touch that one either. Since the Acanth looks like it is doing well, I'd suggest moving the other pieces and leaving it alone.

Thanks. Yes, it was sold as an Acanthophyllia. Someone else had told me it was a scoly. Thanks for the confirmation. Here is a pic a little further back. Forgot to mention, the lobo took a few weeks to overcome the stress of shipping. I am definitely not going to move that one. I will do a little aquascaping...

Thanks. It has expanded a little even since then. Probably close to 5 inches. Again, pics are not capturing its glory. Coolest thing I have purchased in this hobby. Got it from saltwaterfish.com. Don't normally like to buy coral online, but I could not be happier with it. Ok, just figured out how to focus. This is pretty is pretty cool http://youtu.be/Hcx-4foSVOo
