new green carpet anemone

the fiancee picked up a green carpet anemone this past friday. I came home from work and it was waiting for me. She got it for me as a no reason gift.

Got it placed within the tank. Not even 8 hours later, both my False Perc clowns started snuggling and hiding in it's folds. Had the clowns in the tank for the past 8 months. Had a green bubble tip anemone in the tank, but the clowns completely ignored it. The bta then would not stay still anywhere in the tank so he went to a friends tank.

So far, the new carpet has rooted in the sand and the clowns won't leave it.

It is an S. Haddoni.

Is this for your 20 gallon tank? What lights do you have?

10K daylight t5 and a 420 actinic t5.

Yes, currently a 20g high tank.

have a 46gal bowfront that I'm in the middle of setting up, and once stable, will be transfering the fishies to the larger tank. Lighting isn't optimal for the 20g at the moment. But as stated, the 20g isn't a perm home.

Like I said, was a gift from the lady. Wasn't expecting it. But I'll do my best to take care of it until it gets it's home in the 46g.

Just be aware that S. Haddonis can/will get huge (( one of mine is around 20" across )), they will produce a good amount of waste -- so you will have to stay on top of your water parameters.

I wish you luck with it, but given the current conditions it will be an uphill battle, even more so considering the age of your tank.
