New H. Magnifica (Ritteri)

I just had to trade mine in I didnt know about them wanting a flat surface untill it was already in my tank. It kept wanting to crawl thru my overflow. Almost flooded my living room! lol He was a really nice specimen and hated to get rid of him,I know my clowns hate me for it.

Sorry to hear that... Where did you trade him in at?

It would have been nice to get someone to watch it for a while.

I traded him at an LFS. When I brought it in the guy asked "Is that just one?" because it was a good 9-10 inches across. about the size of a cantaloupe all balled up.
I really didnt wanna get rid of him but there were no other options, especially when the wife saw the flood that almost happened. I'll just have to settle for a nice RBTA or something that prefers rougher surfaces and tends to stay put more.

BTA does not stay put. As long as you provid it with condition it need, Magnifica will never move. You will not be happy with a BTA which, IME, consatantly move.
Consider one of the sand bed anemone, but not BTA if you want one that does not climb to your overflow box (or have two overflow box) to keep the tank from flood your living room.

also my sandbed doesnt have enough room in it for a nem so Im going to go with one that prefers to be on the rocks. The mag just didnt like my rough rock so it was constantly looking for a smoother surface.

Whats up Brad.
I had to get in on this Ritteri thread since I just had an experience with one. One that you helped me figure out what was best for that animal.

When the wife gives me the ok for the 225 then I'll be able to get one and be able to make a nice spot especially for him.

Yea I figured that was the same one you were talking about, that's why included the link. Everyone is trying to help you but they didn't have much info about your setup or situation.

I am glad you are looking to set up a 225g. I have a 7 foot 210g and my Mag is roughly a quarter of my tank in width.

I have the 225 setup as FW rift lake mixed atm. But Jill isnt going to let me get salty with it for a while yet. I was hoping he was going to get too big for my nano really fast so that I would have been able to tell her " Baby, hes to big for that tank we HAVE to get salty with the 225!"

My 120 isnt equipped to handle the Mag either, thats why I decided it was best for me to trade him in.

The clowns will be happy with an rbta I'm sure. Last night after I got back from Seascape they were trying to host the little frogspawn I got from the swap. I took him out and put him in the 120 for now untill I find a replacement for the Mag.

Am I the only one who noticed that post #46 11-15-12 and post #56 12-18-12 are the same exact photo? Something seems fishy : (

I just looked back. Interesting.

You are right.

Hurm I did too and seems I must have put up the wrong photo. They are taken with my cell phone. Update the mag is doing great! I will take a fresh new pic when I get home and upload it so that I can stop this "fishy" behavior:fish2:
Sorry about that. Kinda embarasing

I know in the first 24 hours of getting my new BTA,he moved to where he is now and hasnt moved since. Same with my smaller one I have in the 120,hes been in the same spot for 4 months.
