Hi, I am probably going to buy 2 of these ballast. I already have a fixture and want to replace the ballasts. My question is do I need anything else to hook them up?

Those are the ballasts I want. I was thinking of getting these boxes to make life easier.

I just want to be positive they will work with these ballasts? And I don't have PFO fixture so do you sell the male end of the plug, or does it come with both ends? That way I could just put on the matching plug and just plug it into the box. Thank you.

Didn't think it would be this hard to get an answer. I posted here and the Ice Cap forum. Starting to think the lights I have are just fine.

Sorry for the delay. I try to get in the forum as much as possible, however late Friday afternoon was crazy, and then I have spent my time at the softball and baseball diamonds with my kid's since I got off work Friday evening with practices and games for them.

The ballasts you are looking at do not need to be ran in an eclosure if you do not want to. You can simply hard wire them directly. We do have quick disconnects you can wired onto the ballast and pendant if you'd like that connection instead of a hard wire.

Let me know if you have any questions and I'll try to help.

Thanks,
Jeremy

Thanks for the reply.

Since I don't have a canopy, I just have my ballasts in a little cabinet next to the tank right now. If I did that with these without the boxes all the wiring would be exposed. So I could make boxes, but they look pretty nice.

So as far as the plug(from the box to the lamp), do you know if the boxes come with both ends? Because like I said I don't have that kind of plug on my cords now.

The ballast boxes are PFO, which is now out of business. We have the box itself, but no plugs to go with it unfortunately. I would recommend either just hard wiring straight to it, or use the Icecap quick disconnect plugs which are essentially the same exact configuration as a computer power supply cord.

Thanks,
Jeremy
