New Idea-- new direction

Well, now that I've trolled for responses long enough, it seems that many of you guys think this canbe done. Questions about location, size, tanks etc. can all be answered later. What we need to do now is come up with sponsors. If we can't get the money together-- its all just a pipedream. We need to put our heads together to come up with ways to raise money, people to approach for sponsorship.

10s of millions? I doubt that is within our reach, but imagine what we could build with a hundred grand. Keep in mind we are talking about reefs only-- No penguins or polar bears, no FW stuff with silver marijuanas swimming around in clumps of amazon swords. Most aquariums devote maybe 15% of their space to SW. Thats all we will have so we can get by with a fraction of the resources. As long as we specialize, we might be able to pull this off.

*coughs* You all cant volunteer to do demos and whot not for the club, much less volunteer to take care of a multimillion dollar project. I think its a fabulous idea, dont get me wrong, I just think we need to take care of the problems in the club first. Like Project Reef Tank that Mary is doing. Has anyone helped her with that? Not that I know of. If we cant help someone do a 2-3 hundred dollar project, and donate coral and whot not to her, then how the heck are we gonna do this? Lets start small and work our way up.

yes, my husband and I moved the tank and stand for her from the californian to her shop, and I have xenia ready and waiting for the tank to be cycled enough for them. Anyone else ready to donate to project reef?

LOL That building is next to my house.... No parking available and it by far ain't worth that much money.

we were talking about project reef, the tank Mary has at her shop in Nitro, its a reef tank that our club is building and sponsoring, its a 75 or 90 gal I believe, and we need donations for it. It is up and running, I am not sure when it will be ready for corals, I have plenty of xenia for it.

Okay guys the tank at the shop for project reef tank is a 55 gallon. It is cycled and ready for any low light coras, it has 2 skunk clowns in it that Barry gave us.
