Nasty eunicid worm, they like to munch on coral. He ate pieces of our:
yellow fiji leather (recovering)
acan (recovering)
RPEs (gone)
GPEs (gone)
martian eye zoas (gone)
blue zoas (just 2 polyps left)
eagle eye zoas (just a few polyps left)
other misc. zoas
nepthea (recovering)
anthelia (recovering)

Bane of my existence for the better part of a year. We finally caught the bastard, only to find we had more than one. :( We've removed 4 so far, and are constantly looking for the mucus tunnels that they leave behind.

Waaahh... makes my pics look like crap :(

I couldn't spend $400 on a camera...(let alone a lens) without my wife killing me in my sleep...!

very nice pics! ....one can only wish...

Today I will have go out looking at Tripods.....old age is setting in...:)
BTW Jeff do you use a remote shutter like the RC1.?
(Wireless Remote Control RC1)

Ok, I'm officially jealous...lol.
I will be looking for that lens in the near (very near) future.

BTW, Brian, are you glad you got that XTi? I love mine, even though I'm still on page 1 of the manual :)
Andrea...Love the camera.........I couldnt wait to take pictures, so the Manual is still in the box.
Brian
BTW After I learn a little bit more about the camera we will swap Tips and Tricks...:)

I bought my 30d to never miss any pics of my family , that i have acomplished. As far as the manual I'm on page 2 LOL
But working on page 3 and really liking those macro shots. Perhaps its time to start looking again for that lens.
Lets c lens vs more corals .LOL

Look at it this way.......you buy the corals we dont get to see them, because you dont have the lens...:)

I have a manual shutter release (RS60-E3) but it is a cable, not wireless. I think it goes for about $15 (cheapest accessory you'll buy for your camera, EVER :D )

Tripods are VERY helpful for macro work, since even tiny motions are exaggerated at close focus. Not only that, but for Macro shots you'll typically want to be at f12 or higher (better depth of field), shutter speeds will get longer and longer.

Buying a cheap tripod/head setup can be a complete waste of money, so do some research before you buy. I use a Bogen/Monfrotto setup - 3021BPRO legs with a 488RC2 ball head. The combo was ~$250, but it will hold just about any lens you would ever own.

Hope that helps,

Jeff

Jeff thanks for the info and the link. I'm going to talk to my bro and we'll go halves on the lens. Now I'll have an official photographer for my tank... :D

On a different note I honestly think I have one of those worms in my tank. How did you get him out?

Thanks again dude,

Lou
