new long tip anemone question

I have had my long tip anemone for 4 days now and it seems to settle down in the sand bed yet. It seems to be laying on the sand bed and the current would pushes it over on its side. My water parameters are fine and i have efficient light for it too. How long does it take before a LTA to settle down?

sorry for the confusion on the first sentence. I met to say that my LTA has not settle down in the sand bed yet.

Flow in not the problem. The problem is why the nem hasnt planted its foot. How long has the tank been running? A picture would help also.

I have had the tank for over 2 years now. I just moved into another apartment did a 75% water change and let the tank settled for about a month. All the water parameters are fine:
-ph: 8.1
-temp: ~80
-all the ammonia and nitrates/ites are 0
salinity: 29ppt

-30gal. bow face tank/stand
-lights: actinic blue 65watts and 10,000k 65watts (both are power compact lights)
-30 to 40 live rocks with 3 inches of sand
-large protein skimmer
-maxi jet 1200 power head
-about 5gal. water change once a week

fishes: 1 fox face rabbit fish, 1 false clown, and 2 blue damsels
inverts: one peppermint shrimp, and 6 snails

Here is a picture of it at night:

These are the information about the tank I can come up with right now...if you guys need anything else to help me pls. feel free to ask.

IMO thats not enough lighting. The nem doesnt look to good. The foot should be all red not spotty and faded like it is. It also looks a little bleached. I would change the bulbs again or even upgrade your lighting fixture. Try digging a hole and place the foot in there.

I turned off my power head and the anemone has settled down and turning it on will blow the it around. I fed 2 small pieces of raw shrimps today and it devoured it. What should I do about the power head? should I wait till it settles down then turn it on?

Usually they will dig their own foot in. In this case, I would do it for it. Just dig a little hole right in front on the rock work. Place the nem there and it should settle in. Keep the powerhead off for a little. Its a good sign that its eating.

Sorry for going off topic, but if I were to upgrade my lights, what do you suggest I should buy??

Just from experience it took a couple of days for my anemone to find a spot. The lighting and flow from what I've seen are what drives the anemone to move around. From experience, I've had a hatian (moved around a lot), sebae (finally settled down but journeyed across the entire tank), and BTA (which moved frequently at first and then settled). My guess is that its not detecting enough light and thus hasn't attached itself. My sebae likes to a lot of flow and light so its closer to the top.

I would take reeferman's advice and dig a hole for it and see what happens.

Good luck!

What I did when I got my LTA was build a small cove or horseshoe shape out of small pieces of LR and he settled right in, dug his foot in and hasnt moved, also gets hosted by a pair of pink skunks
