Is it possible to have too much light? My light is a vertex illumina. 80 watts of LEDs that are 5 inches above the surface. I normally run it at 80% for the SPS. Any advice on how I should ramp the lights up?

Almost every mag I have ever had moved at least a little bit during the acclimation period.

Morning update.

He stayed in place all night and this morning the lights turned in. I added 3% more white and increased the blue before bed last night. This morning when the lights started to ramp up I noticed he was moving towards the light.

Mouth is tightly closed, feet securely attached all the way around and his water volume within looks normal.

He has moved enough not to be sitting on top of the zoos but now the tenticles are right over the zoos.

I will be increasing the light graduallyby a little bit to see how he reacts to more light.

2/15 9:30am update..

Has not inflated/deflated that I have noticed.
Increased flow of MP10's.
Increased light to white 30%, Blue 35% and royal blue to 50%.
He seems to be heading for the light.
Feet attached all the way around.
Sticky.
Reactive to the touch and flake food.

I have not tried to direct feed yet.

The nem sits in a container hanging along the top of aquarium. When the tank is full the container sits 1" below water surface that way the nem does not get in the tank. tough to get them off the glass.

yes, it is.
I've seen the effects of too much light on all my H.magnifica's at one point in time or another.

I've found that raising the intensity of the lights over a period of weeks is less stressful. I do a 5% increase every week.

The container had about 2 inches of water. Btw- the HT is only empty for 5 mins. Water is pumped back from the display. Keep in mind that these anemones have been found in the wild out of the water on low tides.

Okay so my water change 99.8% since a little water remained in the container.

Update though...
Nem is doing well. The light is set to 45% brightness.he ate frozen food that was picked up from the water column. No direct feeding yet.

I was at the lfs yesterday and couldnt resist a mated pair of wild ocellaris clowns for $40. Will add in once acclimated and eating.

Nem holds himself up and has not inflated/deflated.
Nem has not moved or tried to move.
Light increased by 5%.

Clowns are now hosted. They hosted 5 mins of introduction.

Thank you, my LFS had 3 of them and 3 days ago they still had the other 2 remaining. I guess its not a popular item. The other 2 looks good at the store and both are the same color as mine but one is bigger and the other is smaller than the One I purchased.

Store is in Brooklyn NY called Pop Coral if anyone is interested in them.
