New Pink Skunks

In Memoriam
I just bought a pair of pink skunks and I want to get an anenome for them to host too. From what I have read they seem to prefef Sebae anenomes but if anyone has any other recommendations I would love to hear. I want something to duplicate natural symbiosis and I would like them to breed.

Thanks
Scott

Thanks Gary! Between the Crispa(sebae) or the doreenis(Long tenatcle which do you think would be a better fit for a mixed reef system. I think I will avoid the carpets for now. I am not so concerned about ease of care. I am more concerned about what go walking around my tank stinging everything in its path!! The Sebaes seem to have a nice look although I haven't come across the H. magnifica before. Correct me if I am wrong but aren't they the really bright pink Sebaes??

Thanks
Scott

edit...I guess the pink/purple sebae is actually the H. malu. With that I guess I am not to sure about the H. magnifica

Looks good Fat-Tony. I am thinking about that one but I would like to research more about the H. magnifica.

Thanks
Scott

"Seabae" or "Sebae" anemone is a common name applied to several different species of anemone- Heteractis malu usually being the most common anemone labeled a "Sebae anemone".
Personally, I don't use the term "Sebae" anemone because it's useless.
H. crispa will tend to climb rockwork more than M. doreensis, so the LTA M. doreensis is probably your safest bet. If you can locate a purple one, it would be awesome.
A magnificent anemone (H. magnifica) would be the most destructive anemone by far and you would need to build your aquarium around it's needs.

I think that just just inspired a search Gary. I hope that I can get them to spawn as well. If its in time I will put some aside for when your tank is back to shape...If you would like them that is.

The only reason I actually bought the Skunk was because they are a pair. I have had Percs breed before but not skunks...I can't wait to try.

So far I can't find a purple one online any where I will keep looking however. If anyone sees one please let me know.

Thanks
Scott

reefermadness has nice looking purple tipped H. Crispa but i would be a little nervous ordering an anemone online.. i saw an online vendor that was selling purple M. Doreensis, let me see if i can find it again..

Yeah I saw that purple tip at reefermadness. I would consider that as a fall back but I really want the purple LTA. I hope you find that link....The suspense is killing me (I have a credit card in hand..ready to go)

Thanks
Scott

Thats too funny. When I went to another page that banner came up. I went to it but both were sold....weird

Thanks
Scott

oops says they wee sold but i bet you could contact them and get one.. they look really nice though..

So did anyone find any other sources. Marine Depot doesn't have them currently. Once I get one of these guys I will put it into a prop program so that anyone in the club can have the chance to own one of these beauties.

Thanks
Scott
