New Product arrivals

$99.10 It is labeled on the box .01-.25mg/l P or .03 to .077mg/l PO4(3-) The only other thing I can tell you is it uses a pretty fancy colorimeter wheel and comes in a nice case. It does 100 tests.

i have seen some test results with the Machery Nagel test kits ,
They did not show very good results at all. Have Machery Nagel improved the test kits yet??

That is news to me. They are ISO certified kits and used at the local University which is the biggest in the country.

I placed a pre-order at ChampionLighting and was wondering if the first batch of 6200's has made it yet?

Thanks,
JeffP

Hi Roger,

Will US dealers also be getting a new shipment of 6100's and 6000's as well? Also, will these include the FishCare function?

Thanks,

Luis

6100's come in this week, it will still be going toward backorders. I will try to have an update on 6000's ASAP. The 6200 has Fishcare already, the others I will check.

Thanks Roger, I kinda missed the boat on the last batch and didn't want to miss out again. I'm on a couple waiting lists just to increase my odds. I was thinking about waiting for the FishCare models to come out but I realized I don't use the "tide" or "sequential" modes much at all...I like to keep those pumps moving.

On a side note...I won a Turbelle 2002 on Ebay last week for $50 and was wondering if the parts were the same as my 4002's except for the motor. I will receive it tomorrow and wanted to take it apart and do a rebuild using any parts it may need from my 4002 spare parts box.

Thanks

Yes, many of the parts are the same except the top piece of the housing, the motor, the impeller and the impeller housing.

Well, I am sending some out today and UPS is generally 4-5 days to most dealers and the rest go out tomorrow. Mid next week at the latest and figure they need a day to unpack and inventory.

Hello,

What is fishcare. I ordered two 6100 plus controller. marine depot just emailed my yesterday saying they are in and shipping them out. How do i check to see if they have fishcare. If they don't have fishcare how can i get them

Thanks

You would have to pass on your order, the batch I just got is the first with fishcare which is a feature where when in foodtimer mode or tide mode the pump spins once every 20seconds to scare fish away from entering the pump. If you take what they have now you won't get fishcare, it costs almost $80 to add it to an older pump.

Hey Roger,
Is it possible for you to list any of the vendors that have ordered/received Silphos?
I can't seem to find it at any of the usual suspects.
Thanks,
Sean

Hey Roger, any joy on the 6200 housings for those of us that want to disperse our 6100 and for that matter the 6000 flow more....?????

The first 6200's came in last week, I will see about housings when I call next week.

Sean, the Silphos is in stock here but only a couple LFS's have picked it up. Place an order with whoever you like and I'll arrange to get it to them.

We offer two types, the Aluminum based version- Quikphos is designed for quick removal and should be disposed of within two weeks after being added. The directions suggest using 1.75oz to 50gals of water to start and then after 2 weeks you can double the quantity. Our long term remover is called SilPhos and is an Iron based media like Rowaphos. I think Rowaphos is stronger because it is a much smaller grain, the grain size of Silphos is about the size of coral sand- 2-3mm- mainly for easy handling. For Silphos they say to use 7oz to 250gal of water to start and after a couple weeks you can procede to using 28oz for 250gal of water. Both products warn to never lower phosphate below .015mg/l or coral death may result and to slowly decrease the phosphate levels following the instructed dosages. Silphos is a long term slow acting phosphate and silicate remover. I think the main difference would be cost- both phosphate removers are very competitively priced. $18.69 for (800gm)28oz of Quickphos and $31.83 for (1000g)35oz of Silphos. The main reason we came out with our own is we needed a product of suitable grain size for our cartridges 370,870 and 1670, the competitors products were too fine.

Hi, may I know the reason why phosphate level below 0.015mg/l may result on corals death upon use of the Tunze Silphos?

Does that mean that I can't use Silphos continously? Normally, I would just dump Rowaphos into my Fluidized Reactor and Phosphate level will reach 0. It will last for several months before I see an increase in phosphate level. If I'm using Silphos, can I use it this way? By dumping Silphos into the Fluidized Reactor, isn't the phosphate level going to reach 0 and cause corals death?
