New RBTA and another nem that goes for a walk...

Just wanted to show off my nems, they are quickly becoming my favorite part of reef keeping. Now if I could just get my clowns to host.

Just got a RBTA Yesterday, did a hour acclimation, he was looking pitiful for a bit but this morning looked a lot better, he moved from on top of the rock to down below, not sure why but whatever.

I also have this other nem thats been in the tank for 12 days now. He is finally doing better and starting to open up more. For the first time he has moved from his spot on the rock where I first set him. He was sold to me as a Green LTA but I just don't see it. Some on this forum have called it ritteri, GBTA and GLTA. here is a link to the old thread: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2304332

now for some obligatory pictures and video.

A few questions:

Age of tank
pH
Temp
Light (type and how long during the day)
nitrate
nitrite
What is in sump?
Flow (power heads...)
inhabitants (than those seen in video)

It did walk quite a bit, does it do it often?

tank is going on 5 months, 75g
Salinity: 1.024
PH: 8.22 currently
Temp: 78-79F
Light: DIY LED from Rapid LED. 40 cree lights 16RB 8B 8UV 8W on 4 separate channels running to jarduino controller. I have sunrise sunset sequence starting at around 6:00 am and ending at 9:00. dims from 0% to 80% max.. max light from 12-3pm tapers up and down accordingly.
ammonia: 0
nitrate: 0
nitrite: 0
sump is a 40B center is filled with gravel and some live rock, also just put in some macro algae and pods.
skimmer: SSA ES5
pump: Waveline DC-5000
powerheads: Hydor Koralia Evolution 850GPH

pretty much everything in the video is what I have.. there is a scarlet skunk cleaner shrimp, and a diamond goby somewhere.. also a green mandarin goby, don't remember if he made an appearance.

again with the nem.. this is the first time he has moved since I got him.

I was one that thought it looked like a ritteri. But that pic of the mouth confirms bta to me and the tents are much longer and tapered now.

The salinity bump will not cause any problems in the tank, it will not stop it from moving. Is the light better in the area it is moving to?

Are there any windows/doors where it is moving toward? Or even non tank lights?

What is the water movement pattern? Where it was at least? Direct or anything?

seems like it moved to less light.. it settled in the place it is in the last picture for now. just kinda hanging out sideways.

If anything he is moving towards more flow, which is crazy, the return comes down right there for the most part. I would have thought where he was in the first place was good enough.. who knows...

it may be that it is trying to find a shady place for its foot. ime they like to have their foot shaded and stretch out into the light.

^+1 ... it's most likely looking for a crevace for the foot. It will then stretch out for the light it needs. Mine stretch 6 inches or more from their safe holes. Kikd of amazing to see how far they'll stretch.

so here are some updated pics from this morning under actinic lightning. I have recently become obsessed with BTAs so I picked up another that had some cool coloring, I just had to have him.

Here is the nem that was unknown species for a bit. Actually makes me sad that he looked like that considering how much he has bulked up. I guess he wasn't taken care of very well before if he changed this much.

Here is the RBTA that was in the sand, moved up to the rock and attached inside the hole. He really expands pretty big during the day time. seems to be doing very well.

and here is the newest addition, the pictures really dont capture the awesome color. He is a bight neon green with orange and even some pink. He also seems the most finicky of all my nems, when the cleaner shrimp pokes at him he doesn't respond well. This is probably because he is the newest member and still getting used to the new tank.
