nothing wrong with promoting a store, If I was to open a coral shop, I would be hyping it too.

1 - Apparently oblivious to the abilities of moderators to be aware of shady memberships.

2 - Promoting your own store is not allowed on RC, actually. (which you were obviously aware of)

3 - We here at RC may seem silly and stupid at times but quite frankly the combined IQ is a force to be reckoned with. And we make up a pretty significant percentage of customer base in this area.

Much love. :love1:

You mean you won't be a patron even if the store is "da bomb"?

Likely not for a long while after a positive reputation is established. We have two very fine stores in Buffalo and several others that are ok , now;don't think I can handle more.

I'm thinking if it was Buffalo Corals the guy is reapplying for a new buissness license with a different name now.

If the clerk records in Buffalo's counties are anything like those here in Monroe... you'd be able to do an online search for info. ;)

I think its safe to say, this hobby is expensive. Opening a shop is VERY EXPENSIVE. If there is a need to gain free bumps on this site, this person/persons likely do not have the $$ to make a serious go of it.

Erie county online records show a business certificate 1/28/11 for Buffalo Coral Reef and there is a buffalocoralreef dot com. (It also shows the associated owner's name in details)

Never heard of them...

Unless they have some sort of magic ray gun that they will zap ARC with and magically transport the store, I don't see why I should go to the new store.

Actually, my real point for post 4 times is to get my posts up, so I can gain some legitimacy before I start pumping my own coral shop!

Rich you're right on.

I've seen ABC in Syracuse go from a basement operation, not a cost free enterprise, to a full blown, top notch storefront business. I don't know numbers, but I can tell you they have invested A LOT of money. Furthermore, they continue to reinvest to grow, taking little if any profit out, even on their 3rd year.

On top of that.....there is the investment of time by the main proprietors, for which they draw no pay.

I've seen a few SW shops come and go. Success and longevity are not easy to come by in a niche business.

Anyone remember Tropic Zone, or Inland Ocean, or Petmart, is ocean connection around still?

Not bashing, just pointing out examples.

Point is, hit and run advertising, such as the brilliance displayed here, does not inspire confidence with regard to a potentially successful business model.

Since the OP and you are both posting from the same computer, it isn't difficult to see that "hyping it" is your goal.

However, pretending to be an uninterested third party isn't hype - it is fraud and deceit. I trust your success in this venture will mirror your business ethics.

Just out of curiousity, how do you know they were on the same computer? Just IP Address?

I agree with what you said 100% though, and have little doubt they are the same person.
