Just put my new bulbs in and one is burning yellow. Anybody have any problems with these bulbs? Anybody have a link to that thread that talks about twisting them to get the yellow out? Not really impressed with the color on these and I'm running electronic ballasts. I might have to switch back to the aquaconnects 14k's. Thanks for any info.

I use that bulb and have had no problem. Here's a shot of my tank with them on.

If that one stays yellow, I would get hold of the vendor and have them change it out. BTW, I don't run actinics with mine. I like just the hint of blue it gives me.

Exactly, cost twice as much and hard to find. There spectral plots are similar and the out put is similar with an edge to the AquaConnect.(on icecap)

I'd use them if they weren't $100+ and were hard to get replacements quickly for. I've only ever heard one user not like them(vs many more that loved them)

Well I just switched bulbs and it seems to be fixed now. They do look like the aquaconnects but not as blue with just a little hint of yellow.. Anybody with these have them change as they burn in?

Shouldn't look yellow at all on Icecap. Is this your first 10K? Why did you switch in the first place? Which seemed brighter/more intense?

I'm running hamilton electronic ballasts so it might be them but I have been told that they should run bulbs like the icecap. The reeflux is more intense then the aquaconnects. I had hamilton 10K's before and those are the most intense bulb I have had and very white with no yellow at all, I got better growth out of the aquaconnects and I think I'm going to leave these reeflux bulbs in and see how the corals respond. I have heard good things about these reeflux bulbs.

I switched from Hammy 10K as well and they were the brightest i've ever seen or used. But they did have a yellowish white, but ir an them on a M59 mag ballast.

I just switched to the Reeflux 10k 3 weeks agofrom XM 10k and love them. Its a nice blue white color. I did have to rotate the bubs and experiment with the nipple position for a day or two but they look great now.

You noticed a difference when rotating? What different hues did it give off at different angles?
What position did you settle on?

Both are at about the 1 or 2 o'clock position. Colors varied from a ugly pink to the nice blue white I see now. The first two days one bulb was really pink looking until I got it rotated to where it is now. My last two sets of XMs were the same, rotating them made colors vary from deep yellow to a nice white but very little blue ever.

Hmmm...when you say 1 or 2 o'clock are you basing that by looking from tip of bulb towards the socket?
Did you have to do it while they were on for just a couple minutes before they get too hot to touch, or can you do it with them off?

rotate the bulb, the position matters. My reeflux's are mounted to my hood, when i lift it and they are moved 90 dgrees they look yellow until they return the the correct position
