I prefer to use at the cheapest a good hand pick select pine boards and birch plywood but thats as cheap as I will go but thats just me I hate fighting with garbage lumber everything today is so fast grown make the wood junk ...

Except I used pine plywood on the nano stand, and while it was fine for the sides and bottom, wish I would have used something a little nicer for the top. It's definitely adequate, but a bit too many grains and grooves for my taste. The birch has a much nicer/smoother finish IMO.

Also, I used the nice(r) Pine boards for the face and door frame.
 
All finished up and ready for water.
