I stopped by Blue Seas Aquariums tonight and I was quite impressed. Not only with the store but also with my new little Point and Shoot camera that I got for Xmas.

I went by there about a month ago and was impressed with the store. Friendly help, healthy livestock, and good selection of dry goods.

In addition to the green monti did you see the wicked multi-tiered red monti in the photo just below it?
I know where I'm stopping tomorrow after work...

I love those blueberry sea fans.
Has anybody been able to keep one alive for longer than 6 months in their tanks?
They seem to be one of those corals that's only good for moving into and out of stock for a quick LFS profit.

I've had a couple of them and no matter what I do (target feed, coral frenzy, brine eggs, marine snow, full "sun", part "sun", high flow, low flow, etc.) they all just end up slowly dying off to a lifeless keratin branch after a few months.

I've read that they can be propagated but I haven't been able to keep one alive long enough to try.

Btw, nice find, Andrea.
Hey, wait a minute.... I recognise those green cinnamon polyps.... Andrea! You finally bought a fish store!!!!
LOL

Hey Andrea, where do you get a Sharp Saver coupon book?
I've never heard of them.

Hey Andrea, where do you get a Sharp Saver coupon book?
I've never heard of them.

Yeah, right, John...:o I am still waiting for my big polyps to turn green.....should I try and make them jealous with something else?:D

The Sharp Saver is a coupon book that gets delivered to your house, like all the other coupon books.

Not my house... guess that's one book I'm going to have to actively get on their mailing list.

Seriously, do you think you could email or fax me that coupon?
Email: johnmacleod at bellsouth dot net
Fax: 831-603-7970

If I'm going to stop by there, I may as well be armed with a discount... you know... just in case.
;)

I used mine tonight :D

But seriously, be bold and tell him you had it and had to use it because you ran out of TP...
:eek1:

Ask for Rami and tell him I sent you....

SW Corner of University and Sunrise. Next to the Japan Inn Restaurant.

Wow, right across the street from my office, and can you believe I've never even seen it? :D :D

Guys I stopped by today and happy to say that he carries bulbs/salifert/and plenty of reef specific accesories that are hard to get. i'm happy he's close to me for emergency needs.

As far as critters he does have some nice stuff in there at a little below pricing elsewhere.

Anyways is worth the stop if you are in the area. The lady said that they have been open for about 3 months.

I believe the owner still does services and used to deliver NSW- thus the easy transition into storefront. I wonder how much the storefront mall front pays in rent and if its viable.

Anyways good luck!

I also stopped by there today.
Rami and Leslie were both very knowledgeable and a pleasure to deal with, especially Leslie... Grrrrrrrrrrowl ;)... except for the following items which ticked me off:

All the cool looking stuff in Andrea's photos above are not for sale.
I went in there today just to get that multi-tiered green monti cap, and was told it's not for sale and being grown out for another 6 months before any frags are to be taken from it.

That GIGANTIC big-momma multi-tiered red monti cap is also not for sale.

The ENORMOUS green cinnamon polyps are not for sale.

The big 100+ polyp Eagle Eye colony rock is not for sale either.

Basically, if it looks like a show piece that you would want front and center in your tank... you can't have it. :(

I still brought home a nice multi green zoa rock about 4" wide by 8" long for $59.
(It has about 4 different colored colonies growing on it from crap brown to electric green dragon eyes, but the whole reason I went into debt is because it has a section of about 30 polyps of the most amazing green center with speckled purple iris I have ever seen.
As soon as they open back up I'll take some pics.
I'll frag about half of them to share after they get acclimated just to spread them out.

Thanks for the advice, Andrea, but Rami wouldn't honor the 15% sharp saver coupon price without the coupon in hand.
Afterwards, I called sharp saver and found out you can pick up a copy of their coupon book at the Tamarac or Sunrise chamber of commerce office.

If you plan on going there to buy something, make sure you stop and get a coupon first.
Rami said some other company reimburses him for the coupon so it doesn't cost him a dime in profits... use them all you want with no guilt.

Happy hunting!

I stopped by tonight, nice little store, It's easy to miss though if you don't know it's there. It's between the Japan Inn and OFRA Day Spa
Blue Seas Aquariums, their address is 1777 N. University Dr., Plantation, Fl, 33322. Telephone (954)452-4006
Hours are M-thurs. 12-8 and Fri-Sun 12-6.

A nice little store. It was like a trip back in time for me. My second job at 15 was in the restaurant where Japan Inn is. It was called Lincoln Deli and that was back in 198_... O never mind.
