nice little place, but nothing worthwhile for sale. Why have items in a shop not for sale? There is one other local shop that has coral in thier tanks not for sale. Needless to say, I don't shop there anymore. I want that! Sorry not for sale! Ok, I want that! Sorry not for sale. "sir, the colorless ricordea is for sale, oh and the common toadstool and xenia is for sale."

i have been to other lfs that say the same thing but not at Coral Reef Farm two weeks ago i notice some really good looking fish in the flat tanks i fiqured they are not for sale but they said EVERYTHING IS FOR SALE HERE, those are nice words to hear.
i can understand one display tank but some stores have more than one. LOL it is a business right.

I think u guys are missing the point here. The store is new and they are trying to setup a show tank as many stores do thus the pieces that are going into the show tank are not for sale I understood that when I went by.
Anywas there's plenty of ways to skin a cat CRF does it one way/ this store another as well as many others.
So no reason to trash one place for another.
As far as nothing worthwhile fro sale cmon man there's plenty of stuff for sale just not what u wanted or I wanted.

I'm not trashing the store. I was impressed with how clean it was as well as some decent pricing. I'm sorry but I've been in retail for many years and if I have it in the store then I sell it. What does it do for the customer to show nice things and only have the cheap ones for sale? If you make the nice pieces available for the customer, their word of mouth will travel to other people saying how they bought a great piece at a certain store then just simply saying they had great pieces that they are not selling. Sell the green cap for 300 bucks. That's a steep price but leave it up to the consumer to choose.

in my case i was in another store this Friday saw a piece i would pay extra for since it is what i like(i know that is me and many are looking for the cheapest price but i am looking for colorful healthy looking pieces) anyway this store i will not give the name has two large display tanks and now a nano display and they will not sale from them, i understand the display idea but 3 tanks with nice corals and then almost NO corals for sale. Look it is their business but i feel it is bad business IMHO. If they took those corals and set them up like CRF on sallow tanks with 20K bulbs they will sale a bunch of corals. But that is telling them how to run their business, so the best of success to them.

you guys are trashing this place without even giving them a chance, if you don't like their business practices don't shop there.
it is a shame, the store didn't even do anyone wrong.
maybe they are also fans of pretty corals and want to take the chance to setup a tank of their own, or since they service tanks maybe they are going to customer tanks.

I just added comments to the topic of "corals not for sale relpy" the only place i would change is using the word bad maybe a better word would have been not a good marketing decision.

I am the owner of this new store.... and I see a lot of remarks about the "corals not for sale". I understand where you guys are coming from, when I use to shop at other stores I would hate when they told me "thats not for sale".
The 5-6 corals that were not for sale were waiting for the 150 Gallon that we just setup. They were my personal corals from my tank at home. As far as really nice corals like the green monti... we are expecting a shipment of the the Metallic green monti digitata.
Also guys the really nice corals and the more rare ones are usually gone the first hour or two!!

RS thx for keeping us posted- wishing u success in your new biss. I believe u used to deliver NSW.
This forums are restrictive to lfs owners(no commercial posts) so my advice is to email the particulars when new shipments are available and u will get your fair share 4 sure.

I must apologize, I did not mean to come off negative about your store if I did. I simply got frustrated at a couple lfs that do not sell the coral in the store. The next time you go into the supermarket and want to buy your favorite ice cream that is on the shelf that is very hard to find and the manager says "sorry, you cant buy that" I am sure you would get frustrated also. great looking store and good luck.

Lol, you guys don't come to Orlando much, huh? Some of the stores have 5+ DT's and don't sell from them.

Fish selection was pretty good... I was there today. I got a pump from them, a huge blue leg (with black bands), and a cleaner shrimp. Nice store...
I just went to the store today. I thought that the store was great and that Romi and the rest were amazing. They had great prices and selection. They are out of the way for me, but I will go that extra trip just to patronize the store. Those of you that are upset that they don't sell a few pieces from the show tank should just get over it and appreciate it.

Last time I went I was ignored and didn't received any help. I just walked around the store waiting for help and finally just walked out without a word from the store employees. How did they go out of there way for you?

no matt...last time we were there he said, "if you guys need anything just gimmie a hollar!" I've told you that like 3 times, even though you don't believe me!!! The owner is a really nice guy! I bought a really nice rock of zoas from there at a good price! Anytime I'm in that area I'll stop in and check out what he's got.
