Take a look at my new 427gal tank made for me by James at Envisions.I just got it up and running this past weekend.

Its been a long time in planning. The natural sunlight pouring in makes it amazing to watch. The plumbing was tricky getting everything down into the basement thru the supports, but it is absolutely quiet and you can walk all around with no obstructions to your view.

The room was just finished this february. I planned on the tank from the start of the project. I had the guy who did the tile work finish the supports for the stand with the same slate tile so it looks like a continuation of the floor. There are 4 I beams on top of concrete blocks under there. The plumbing and wiring go into the cellar below thru the two inner columns. The sump is a 150gal rubbermaid with a bubbleking 250 skimmer and a sequence uno wahoo pump for a return. I use 4 tunze streams placed on the overflow to keep things moving in the tank. There is a schuran calcium reactor connected to the sump as well.

Do you have pics of your stand under construction ?? I would like to see more / hear more detail on that... Do you have it / or will you have it setup so that if the sun is out then the MH will not come on ?

Looks awesome so far, more info and more pics :)

Awesome tank congrats. How long was it in planning and how long to get to this point? Thanks again for the look

I saw the stand design here on RC. I think its called the "schimmer stand" (not sure if spelling right) after the guy who designed it. I modified it a bit so as to better displace the load across the floor. There is a basement below and not a slab. I also used 4 I beams instead of 2 only because I didn't want to fool around with wood cross supports. It was easy and cheap. I am not entirely content with the wood skirt around it because I think it looks a little big and blocky. I might add some moulding or stencil it or something.
I started planning this more than a year ago. Its been a long road, but I'm smiling now. Here is a pic of my anemone. He seems happy too!

I was going to say it looks like a "Schiemer Stand"... I saw it in Sanjay's thread...

So you just used center blocks and ran the plumbing up between the holes in the middle of them ??

Again very nice setup...

If you don't mind me asking about how much was it for the 4x I-beams ??

I know your system has only been setup for a few days, but do you think the BK is worth it ??

I rem you posting about an "automatic water changer" are you relaying on your dialyseas for all of that or will you be doing a weekly / monthly WC ?? If so can you give details...

Yes, exactly. Sorry I got the spelling wrong. And yes that is a Dialyseas. I have had it about a year. I bought the I beams for $70.00 each with 2 holes drilled in each end.
I agonized about which skimmer to buy. I searched the threads in here for some real info but all I found was opinion and conjecture. Nothing concrete to make a judgement. I liked the low energy consumpion of the bubbleking and I wanted an internal model sooooo I burned my wallet and bought it. It works great with no noise and the most incredibly small bubbles I have ever seen. I empty a half full waste chamber about every 12 hours or so. Moving that live rock put a lot of gunk in the water.Time will tell if it was worth the cost, but if what I can see of the quality of that pump it should last longer than I do!
