New Tank

I havn't been to a BRS meeting since MACNA but I intend to go back. I have been so busy planning this room and tank I really didn't have time. Construction was really as bad as everyone says it is. Nice to hear from a neighbor! I would love to get together with others from the south shore. I have a rival? Impossible! LOL

That tank is amazing, along with the room. I was considering a greenhouse type of room for my next house, but I'm not sure about the heat here in TX.

Can you close off that room and how hot does the tank/room get?

Chris

I don't know how hot it will get because summer has yet to arrive here. It has central AC so I'm not concerned with the temperature, just the electric bill! I could have added a door to close off the rest of the house but chose not to.

That is a very nice setup, i would love to have an opportunity to swing by and look at it in person. My mom is in Randolph and i visit her every Saturday. Are you anywhere near Home Depot/Jordan Furniture?

I just installed a deep sand bucket for nitrate control and am battling cyano. I suppose that is to be expected at this point as I'm only 3 months into it. Other than that everything is going well.
I live about 20 minutes south of that location.

That dialaseas is almost $3,000!!!
Whats the justification?

Im in the middle of building a 465 gallon reef/fish tank with a 150-180 sump also in the basement underneath. Im in to state of the art stuff but it has to be worth the cost.

do you have that hanna all in one electronic tester for $600 also.
if you have the money to burn then thats that! :eek1:
no offence intended here. I love your tank and am very impressed! Id love to see more mechanical room pics of your electronics control board as im drawing my plans now.

Id like to know if your able to control things from the main floor as well as the basement. does one overide the other?

Damn; How did I miss this???

I have been dreaming about a tank in the "greenhouse" for about 5 years. When I build my next house, I would like a green house/sun room attached to the house. How has the room held up under the recent heat wave temperature wise?

Could you post or provide a link to some pictures of the outside looking in. I am interested in how the room looks off of the house.

Congrats! This is truly a first class set up. Good luck with getting that damn cyano under control.

I havn't had any trouble keeping the tank temp below 80 as the room is air conditioned. The air conditioner runs all day non stop though and my electric bill really spiked. I want to get a venting fan installed at the top that will go on when my halides go on. I think I can do it myself, but I think it may not look as good as if a professional did it.

Here is an updated photo. Tank is now 3 months old. Biggest problem so far as I said is a cyano outbreak.
