New Tank

I am trying to keep it as simple as I can. I went from having a euro reef to a bubbleking. A bit of a difference there to be sure. It's the 250 internal. I put it in the sump and turned it on. I have to empty the cup daily.
I had a fuge before and I want to avoid having one again. I saw no real benifit from it other than it kept the pH of the display tank a little higher at night. It became a nutrient sink, used more electricity and was a general pain in the ***!!!. So far so good without it.

Here is the outside view of the sunroom. You can't see the tank to well during the daylight.

Thanks for the pic. I really like to see tanks from different perspectives. My tank could be seen from the street, until we installed solar screens on the house. You would see the actinic blue glow at night, and it looked cool. The neighbors wondered what was going on when I first setup the tank though.

What exactly do you mean by solar screens?

I actually had a lady on my street ask me where she could get the bulbs because she liked the way my house glowed at night.

Thats pretty funny.
I bet you laughed out loud ;)

boy thats one of the nicest set-ups I have ever seen, the tile does make the stand look better IMO, and the room looks GREAT
any updates on the cyno? and what are the measurements of the tank?

Nice house!! It looks like it is from a magazine or somthing.:) ::eek1: Sweet tank also, and big if I might add.

how large is your chiller, i assume that with that much sunlight entering that room it heats up the water a lot

There is no chiller. I have no temp problems at all because the top of the tank is completely open. When the water temp reaches 80 degrees, a fan on the wall blows a stream of air over the water surface. The room is also air conditioned, but I let it get up to 80 on days when the humidity is low.

I still have cyano problems. I keep putting off treatment with chemi clean, but I think I will do it soon.

Okay, I have no scientific proof that this helps, but on my system, it seems like when my fuge is not overgrown or under lit, that the cyano goes away. In other words, I always notice some cyano when I neglect my fuge; let the macro over grow, let the lights go bad, etc. When the algae has room to grow and get good circulation, the cyano seems to go away. Just a thought. Like I said, I have no proof that that has anything to do with it. :D
