25 dollars on amazon, just started using it.for calcium on the red sea test kit w 5ml of water..works great!much easier than shaking and stirring.this is a handheld version of the equipment used at the pool stores, always thought it would be a great idea to have on in the house but the professional models would be overkill.but for 25 bucks this thing is a great new toy.

Thanks, that looks very interesting - did you get it yet? Can you post some pics when you do to get an idea of the size?

The problem with 2 mL or 4 mL of liquid is not that it won't work but the color is harder to see in my opinion because it's not as concentrated in a smaller space. 5 mL is no problem

Received my Speedster yesterday and using with Salifert for Cal, Alk and Mag. So much easier to do the test and color change is easy to see. No problem for me with 2ML or 4ML seeing color change. Wish it came with extra stir bar and tube. Very happy with the Speedstir.

hmmmm....very cool.

However, the salifert instructions often say "swirl, don't shake." In the video it looks like it's a pretty violent stir; could this have an effect on the accuracy of the test?

Also, do you follow the same "swirl time" suggestions (i.e. - 30 seconds, 10 seconds, etc.)?

Looks like a great idea though.

For swirl 10 or 30 seconds, that is done the old way. When using the syringe, I would use the speedstir. The test becomes more accurate because it's easy to see the color change from the faster stirring.
