This is an update ,
Yes, Ushio will be introducing what we call a 20K+ this fall.

This will be our complete 175W line up:

5001586 UHI-S175AQ/65 = 6500K

5000761 UHI-S175AQ/10 = 10000K

5001591 UHI-S175AQ/14 = 14000K

5001592 UHI-S175AQ/20+ = 20000K+

Regarding the actinic T5 lamps we will be introducing a full line of aquarium fluorescent lamps probably in the first quarter of 2006. These will also be made in Germany. At this moment however we do not have these lamps in stock.

Ushio/BLV is bringing a DE 14k (probably a true 14k NOT something like the Phoenix) to market soon. It's apparently already available in Europe and Asia, but not quite yet in the US. A vendor told me that the 175 Ushio 20k looked like a nice option for that market segment. Nice crisp blue bulb.

FWIW, there already is an Ushio and BLV 10k and 20k in the DE, so the only one missing is the 14k.

USHIO will be introducing the following in DE:

14K 150w and 250w

They are due out this summer, but I have heard some info lately that it may be October before the public sees them.

I was supposed to have a sample this month, but I may not get it until Sept.

Some of the local vendors got samples the past month. But yeah it sounds like October before they are generally released.

I posted elsewhere, but i have been running the 250w DE 14000k's for about 2 weeks now. They are very white and perhaps a little brighter than my 10000k,s(although my 10000,s were 6 months old)
Very different to the Phoenix as they don't appear to have any blue to the eye.

I have them ans so far I am very happy with them. I'm running the 250 watt DE. Corals definitly pop more than the Phoenix 14k.
