New water barrel

I'm ready to swap out the brute cans for something a bit bigger/nicer. All I see on Amazon is an $80 rain barrel. Would a feed store have something? I really like the ones that lay sideways so I can have water on top, and saltwater below.

How many gallons? Are you saying you want to stack the two tanks?

Side by side is actually fine. Currently 24 RODI water and 35-40 gallons of new saltwater. I'd like to go 55 gallon each.

Stacking the way Dennis did was cool, but not really necessary.

Score! My brother in law does sales to dairys. All kinds of supplies. He said he can bring me 2 55-gallon, all plastic, food grade barrels for free. Apparently used for iodine. I assume I can bleach, then vinegar soak them and they'll be fine?

Any issues with barrels that contained Iodine as long as it was food-grade?

you might want to try to and clean them out the best you can, fill them up with water and test for Iodine after a few days or weeks. Only way to really know if it'll work.

Iodine in small amounts is ok. I test and it is usually between .03 and .06.
