With the Help of John I have switched from a Ca Reactor to Litermeter III dosing pumps. John Thanks Much for the Help! We did it 3 days ago and I have 3 pumps, but only hooked up pumps for Alk and CA. I will probably setup the third pump for Mag, but no hurry. It's only been 3 days so it's hard to tell if it's working better than the Ca Reactor. I have been testing every day and slowly adjusting the pump rate. i did adjust from 50 ml of Alk and Ca to 100 yesterday as they had both dropped quite a bit over night.
My reason for the change is I felt the CA Reactor ( Korallin 1502) was hard to keep a consistent drip and bubble count. When I would turm off the main pump which feeds the reactor the bubble count would change and the drip was always changing. This was confirmed when I would test. It just wasn't consistent enough. I also found it extremely difficult to adjust the bubble count. The slightest turn of the valve on the CO2 would change the bubble count too much.
Bye the way the pumps are great. You don't run them from a controller. you calibrate them and set the amount you want to dose on a daily basis and the pumps dispense the amount over 24 hours. There is no option to set how much is dispensed at a given time. Very simple I really like them. I wish I had made this change some time ago!
