I've been driving to Redondo Beach lately, and noticed Aquatic Fantasy on PCH. I stopped in today. Nice store. The fish all looked good, and they had a fairly large selection. Some nice displays, too, with huge corals (though I did notice an aiptasia or two). Prices were not high, not low. Those in the area should check it out.

Yup, I agree, they have a nice place. I purchased a few livestock from them when I used to live in the area. Their dry goods imo is expensive though. Do they still have the two big massive 2000 gallon cubes in there?

yeah i havent been in there in about 3 years but i do remember the display tank! great fish selection(as i remember it) defininatly go check it out

I've never really been a fan of Aquatic Fantasy. High prices, mediocre service and selection. Stopped by this past Monday and the place was an algae farm.

Like Neptune, they were the best in the area but Jeff's and now the new Pacific Reef have easily bested them in the South Bay.

I've been to Neptune's a few times a few yrs ago and each time I was there I always felt like throwing punches at the two owners as they always acted like smart asses to their customers (not just me). They seem to have attitude problems, at least during the times I've been there in the past. I don't know about present day though. I guess they captured the business of the folks in PV that have have no idea and are willing to pay their prices.

I've had the same experience with Neptune's. The older guy had a serious attitude and the younger guy (his son?) isn't much better. I'm surprised they've lasted this long, but I guess you're right in that they cornered the PV/South Torrance market. Hopefully, Pacific Reef takes a good chunk out of their business.
