Nine peppermint angels!!!!

It's sorta kinda eating, but if this was an ordinary fish at the LFS I'd pass on it. But it has good weight on it, so hopefully it'll be eating with more gusto in time.

for me, thats how fish start eating ... but after 2 weeks of being in captivity ... ure right wayne .. it should be more excited for food.

Is it just me or does it seem like the peps still don't really recognize food that's floating around the water column? I mean they're definitely trying to eat, but it seems like they're overlooking the majority of food floating by.

they are more interested in bottom it seems..i doubt in their natural habitat they eat much from column...perhaps can't shed their grazing habit too quickly...

I love when I click on the video, it asks me if I want to see my arrest record, lol ...

Has Koji or Rufus mentioned what the peps are eating or if they're only picking @ rocks? I'd be interested to know what type of foodstuffs are down 400+ feet. Do you throw in sponge encrusted rock for grazing? Like Peter said, if it's still maintaining weight, then it's sustaining itself. You do want to see some gusto!

You've been watching all your corallivores downing pellets too much...

Mine is doing about the same as in video

Hmmm...Drew. Sounds kind of risky to pick up a second Pep that's not eating well. Don't you think you should spread the risk and let someone else try to rear it. Aren't you Wall Street guys all about risk management and obversion

I personally would have put one in a QT tank with a bunch of fully encrusted live rock with all kinds of sponge and critters much like what Chingchai did.
Get them nice and fat before weening them onto prepared foods. It wall also help them get settled in properly.

isn't his 2nd pep going to be the one Karen was looking after...?..that was feeding well....

i hope you added more 'sheds' in the aquascape...or 'caves' to hide when it is not liking the light..Ching's is bit open scape..

That seems to be typical for every Paracentropyge I've ever seen (ok, only 95%). Eventually they 'get it', but it can easily take months. My multibar looks absolutely baffled by floating food even though it can smell it and see other fish eat it.

Good to see someone getting success with these fish tho'. Given the price and scarcity it must be worth the bother of running a specific 'QT' for these guys for a few months or so.

Update thee pictures before the second one coming
