Updates:

I have water in the tanks and no water leaks as of yet. I ran the DAS's and everything seemed to be working fine. I will add some salt today and let it run over the weekend before I add rock.

Thats kinda the whole idea, right?!?!?!

I like your nickname BAX - my last name is Baxter!!

Baxter is actually my first name!

Couple updates:

I am in the process of cycling the tanks and I will be adding a few chromis and add the rest of the rubble rock and display rock in the next week.

Scott will be coming up with the equipment for the 600 and helping me plumb the system by the end of the month.

The basement should also be 100% complete by the end of the month.

i was lucky enough to see this set up in person this past weekend. all i can say is pics do not do it justice

it makes my dream tank in my head look like crap.

awesome set up awesome house. i cant wait to see this get going

just let me know if u need a hand, im local and pretty handy w/ plumbing, welding and general building stuff.
my name is mike by the way. tall skinny guy with the black hat that was eye balling ur old tank lighting and skimmer from last weekend

A few updates on the project:

I put the first corals into the softy frag tank (frog spawn, zoas). I have another shipment coming in for the SPS tank on Tuesday. I also bought a purple and yellow tang to inhabit the tanks til the 600 is online.

I went down to Scotts shop this weekend and saw my skimmer parts and picked up my Kalk reactor for the frag tanks. The skimmer, large calcium, sumps, tunze boxes, and Closed Loop channels should be completed in the next couple weeks. Scott is shooting for the middle of April to come up and plumb most of the 600 system and returning a couple weeks after that to finish and dial in the system as well as plumb the 150g aggressive.

Once I get the next shipment of frags I will post updated pictures of the project.

I am getting my first SPS order from liveaquaria.com. It will be assorted aquacultured frag packs. cheap, hardy, and 30 day guarantee is good for the first batch of corals going into the tanks.

In a couple months, once i know the parameters are dialed in, I will purchase some exotic corals from reeffarmers.com.

Jnarowe - That is quite the wave action!! Can't wait to see what plan scott is going to come up with.

thought you would like that. I didn't really get an answer about the tank construction, but I guess it will be stout enough.

Tank Looks Nice! not sure if you mentioned it because i just skimmed through pics. But did you think about knocking that wall out to make the tank viewable on 2 sides?

The tank has overflows on both ends so there would only be 15" or so on each end of the tank to view. The tank is viewable on the front and back sides, but I will have a mirror on the rear viewing panel to make the tank "look" twice as deep.

Fargo has not much for reef fish or coral. I order most of my stuff online. By the end of this year I would like to have 2000 gallons of capacity to house fish and coral to trade.
