There used to be more like "pin size" particulate matter in the column...Not really sure what it all was, but its now more like quarter of that amount.

Those were the "Tunze Covers"...Black acrylic bent and glued into place. There are one in each corner and one big one on the back wall. Just meant to hide the 6201's and a good refuge for fish getting picked on :)

WOW!!! This is one heck of a setup. Very well planned and executed. Its going to take some work to fill it up with corals though. Future TOTM in the making.

My honost guess it will take about 100 coral colonies to fill it up. I have little frags in it right now and it looks rediculous. :)

I do have 30 colonies coming from Bali in the next week to help with that problem.

I do need a few more "bottom" type fish as well as a couple large "Show" fish.

Any suggestions?

For show fish - If you are into Tangs, A pair of Naso's would look AMAZING in that tank, especially the male with Long streamers. It sounds like you are more into SPS, so I would look into some of the large Angel's, like the Queen Angel....absolutely stunning fish!!

I would get a pair of these

I have seen several in reef tanks, they do well

Doesn't that link say that they are NOT reef safe?

true, however there are several reefers here on rc that have them without problems, I think it depends on the individual fish you happen to get

I did some testing this morning (before lights on) and here are the parameters:

Temp - 78.5 - ACIII Pro

pH - 8.25 - ACIII Pro

ORP - 455 - ACIII Pro

Salinity - 1.025 maybe 1.026 - Refractometer

Calcium - 430 maybe 420 - Salifert

Alkalinity - 10.2 - Salifert

Mag - 1380 - Salifert

I ran out of my Ammonia, Nitrate, Phosphate tests...I did order some this morning. I would guess with my heavy feeding I have some nitrates and some phosphates. I have gotten the carbon and phosphate reactors online (last friday) and that has helped to polish the water. But to make sure I will get these tests done by salifert.

Should I be testing for anything else?

one other test you might consider is silicates. this way you can judge your water change water and keep an eye out for another element that kicks in nuisance algae. Also, I think it's a good idea to have a copper test on hand, even though it would probably only be used in an emergency.

O2 testing is useful as well, but the available tests that I have tried have been pretty crappy.

I finally cleaned the front and rear panes with my new Super Magnetic cleaner (Great White).
