Norwegian 140g sps tank

Both are very nice fishes. I like the Auromarginatus; these fishes have an awesome body shape, I love how they swim. :D My brother has a Niger Trigger; and it looks amazing. Yeah, my bro keep glass covers on his tank because of the jumping.

As for the Rubrimarginatus, thats a nice fish too, adds some nice colourful, movement to the tank.

I managed to get hold of another slightly different type of Strawberry shortcake. :D This one is a faster grower. I already made a frag of it and it has nicely encrusted. My tank had about 15ppm nitrates, but it still is holding very good colour. I am doing more water changes to bring the nitrates.

The person I got it from is a retailer, he cultured the shortcake for a year. He is not releasing it yet, but when I visited his place, he sold me a frag of it. :D This one has the same signature green base with pink tips. Lovely. :D

But it just shows that cultured corals are hardier and better at holding colour.

Hi Sahin!

I love triggers to. Had Odonus Niger earlier. But I gave it away when it began to attack my fingers when I was working in the tank. Beautiful fish, but very aggressive:bum:

I'm looking forward to see your build and acropora collection! Love to see a picture of the SSC and the other one you mention:bounce2:

PS, I am swapping to Canon system. My now ancient Nikon D70 camera battery wont hold charge. I will hold onto my classic Nikkor lens but sell off the other stuff and buy a Canon 650D (T4i) next month. Early in the new year I intend to buy a 100mm macro for it. :D

Meanwhile I will use lens from my two brothers; they both have canon cameras.

What do you think of the Canon 650D?

I'm very satisfied with my Canon EOS600D. Haven't tried the 650, but I've read about it seem like a good choice. What lense are you going to choose?

One of the best collection of acros I've seen, nice photography skills too!

Thanks Mikesville510. I try my best:D

Forgot to post the last batch.

Bought a Naso Elegans too. I lost my previous about six months ago.

Here it is with my PD.

Try to look away from the mess at the bottom:facepalm:

Wow dude, the FTS type shots really shows how much your tank has progressed! :)

Its looking "full" in a good way. Lots of colour and the corals are much bigger. I am so used to seeing mainly single coral shots; but seeing these shots I can see that your tank has come along so well.

I also notice that brown fuzz appears to have disappeared? You still have some Cyanno, but it looks a lot better. Other than using Coral Snow, how did you get rid of the brown fuzzy stuff? Is the Cyanno getting better?

Thanks.

Thanks Sahin:) The corals grow and now I regret that I glued the frags too close. It's a mess at the bottom, frags and corals everywhere:spin2: But I'm collecting the Acroporas that I will have in my new tank in the fall. I'll sell a couple of big colonies and some of the regular Acroporas.

The cyano is not gone yet. I cleanse the sand manually everytime I remove the algea on the glass. I still dose CS, but it's hopeless to get rid of it in the summer:headwally:

A couple of new shots.

Found these at my LFS (corals.no Shop will open soon). I got a few with me home. I believe they are called "Lava Rain" in the us.

The Cyphastrea is growing. And finally it fill the plug:dance:

IMG_3993.jpg

A few Zoas. Not sure if these have a "market name".

IMG_4012.jpg

IMG_3997.jpg

My Efflo (Solli) is growing, but it has lost some color. I had to move it down from my fragrack and now it doesn't get sufficiant lighting.

IMG_4022.jpg

Here's a frag of an Acropora Simplex or Elegans. Looking forward to see what it is when it gets a couple of branches.

IMG_4013.jpg

Montipora Undata. It's beginning to look like a Jedi Mind Trick Monti.

IMG_4010.jpg

The Setosa is my pride-Montipora.

IMG_4000.jpg

Bought as Acropora Jacquelineae, not sure if it is correct yet.

IMG_4015.jpg

Cyphastrea Decadia.

IMG_3992.jpg

Finally this tabling Acropora is getting the purple color!

IMG_4023.jpg

And this Rhodactis Inchoata at the end.

IMG_4026.jpg

We finally got an Australia shipment to Norway yesterday. I finally got hold of SSC (or very similar). Here's a photo taken 20 min after it got in the grossist's QT tank.

IMG_4162.jpg

I also got one colony of Ice Fire Echinata.

IMG_4158.jpg

And one of my favorites. Acropora Sarmentosa.

IMG_4130.jpg

The colors on the pictures look kinda weird because of the powerful led-canons in the shop:spin1:

Finally got my Aussie Acroporas!

They lost a good bit of color after the iodine dip. I hope they will recover soon. Pictures taken 07th of August.

First Acropora Selago or similar.

IMG_4221.jpg

One pale Ice-Fire Echinata.

IMG_4222.jpg

Acropora Sarmentosa.

IMG_4223.jpg

Acropora Microclados (SSC).

IMG_4224.jpg

Here's two pictures from today from the side.

Very nice! That Selago is quite nice too. Your Echinata is called an Aussie Echinata, not an Icefire Echinata.

The reason being that the Icefire Echinata is actually lineages to original from Aquascene. The Aquascene version has blue tips with the branches and main stem being a green colour. The Aussie Echinata has blue tips, some green along the stems, but the main body is a pale cream colour. Still, the Aussie Echinata is VERY nice.

How are you other corals doing? Would love to see updated coral shots. Goodluck with the new corals. :D

Thanks, the Selago has browned out a bit, but I haven't dared to give it more light, yet :) The Aussie Echinata is doing great, but it's lost some of the white colour on the base. Thanks for clearing the names up, I think this is nicer than the Icefire:spin1:

See the next post for a little update.

Very nice tank can i get some pics of the system and lights?

Thanks, If you see the first pages of the thread there should be some pictures of the lighting (ATI Sunpower 6x80w) and the system.

I had some trouble with getting hold of balling+ in the middle of summer. Finally the colors are getting back. This is the final update before I sell my system and moves to a new one.

Acropora Suharsonoi.

IMG_4254.jpg

Some of my Ric's.

IMG_4255.jpg

Heliofungia Actiniformis.

IMG_4256.jpg

Cyphastrea Agassizi.

IMG_4257.jpg

My Pearlberry is green because of little lighting.

IMG_4267.jpg

This has more potential. It will be higher in my new system. Hoping for pink corallites.

IMG_4268.jpg

Montipora Mollis, Montipora Danae and Montipora Undata.

IMG_4271.jpg

I haven't dared giving my Aussie Acropora Microclados more light. It will be higher in my new system and probably more pink will come.

IMG_4276.jpg

This Efflorescens/Solitaryensis should also get more light.

IMG_4277.jpg

This Efflorescens/Solitaryensis was almost dead, but now it looks better than ever. Still on the bottom though.

IMG_4278.jpg

Acropora Valida.

IMG_4280.jpg

A couple of frags, tricolor Valida in focus.

IMG_4287.jpg

Had to frag up my gem because it was starting to loose a little tissue in the base.

IMG_4294.jpg

Thank you. Unfortunately this system is dry right now. Sold it yesterday :) I've startet a new build thread. Search for "Norwegian" and "acrylic" and you will find it in the sps forum :) Thanks to all that have followed this thread!
