not centered mouth on RBTA?

my 1 week old rbta moved today facing almost front, so i could get a good view of it's mouth. at first i didn't see it, but then noticed it's not center at all, about 1" from 1 side...is this normal/ok? rbta looks good and acting/eating fine. just always thought the mouth was always centered.

The mouth isn't centered when the anemone is a recent clone. When the anemone divides, the mouth often reforms closer to one side, and the anemone slowly grows out and the mouth "moves" to the middle.

FWIW,
Kevin

I'm only guessing at this, so take it for what it's worth :)

I wonder if that's where a mouth would be on a recently cloned nem. They separate at the mouth, each keeping about 1/2, so that would leave it closer to one side as it healed. I would guess that as they heal it gets closer to the center :)

Hopefully someone else with better experience will chime in :)

Only reason to worry would be if the mouth starts falling off the side. Not literally falling off, but opening up and beginning to gape toward the side that the clone was produced from.

From what you're describing, nothing at all to worry about. Sounds like you have a happy, healthy nem.

now that i look at it, the mouth is very near 1 side, not even 1" in, but mouth looks normal. when i feed it looks like the mouth moves towards center...

no, the pic of that 1 definately is alot worse. mine, the mouth is about 1/4" in from edge. it eats like a champ though...
