I decided to get rid of my pain in the rear canister filter and old HOB filter today. Off I go to the LFS to check out new HOB filters. I find one that will work on my 30g Oceanic tank. $49.99. Not bad...it's an Aqueon filter. (Never heard of it before.) The cashier rings me up and tells me it's on clearance. "Even better" I say. He says..."It's $4.00." I have a coupon for $3.00 off my total order.

SCORE!!

$1.05 for a new filter. Hehe! I love a bargain.

BTW...it's rated for a 55g tank and has a 325gph flow rate. Nice and quiet too.

I haven't bought a HOB or canister that wasn't from a Craigslist or yardsale in years. I think a buck is till a pretty good deal for one though
