Nsw

Has anyone purchased NSW from ReefCollection in Santa Ana?

Any other stores in So California that have "trust worthy" NSW at a reasonable price?

Over the phone they said they carry NSW Scripps for .59/g or already mixed at .29/g.

I know NSW is free at Scripps and UCSB, but the gas for a large pickup truck would be about the same a .59/g.

I've used IO before, but after RODI for 180g of net, water water bill was $200 + $40 for salt. Thats about $240 for the inital fill up.

Thanks
Doug

:eek2: 200.00 for around 1000 gal of tap water:eek2:

I was told we could get free NSW here. The Kerckhoff Marine Lab is located at 101 Dahlia Avenue in Corona del Mar, CA (tel.949-675-2159). If your in OC then they may be your best bet.

I wouldn't trust ASW sold at 29¢ gallon. Knowing what salt mix costs and the cost of running RO/DI at 0 TDS even if your source water is free (and it could be at a store).

The Kerckhoff Marine Lab in Corona del Mar, CA Does have free water, but their pump is very slow and 2 of the 4 times I have gone their was no water.

All I use is Kerckhoff Marine Lab water and both my tanks are just fine. I spoke to some guy (think his name might be John) at length before traveling down there and he assured me that the water is "Lab Grade". He went on to explain that they study sea urchins and as such the water quality must be of the highest quality. Anyhow, that was like 4 months ago or so and I've yet to see any problems with it. I usually pick up around 400 gallons and the fill time is approximately 1 1/2 hours.

300g water tank mounted on a trailer in addition to 22 5g water jugs. Nice heavy load but hey I've got a Toyota.
