"O" to the "M" to the "G" !!!

Well in my opinion you have to be wealthy or nuts.

I agree. I dont care about all these other posts trying to justify spending 10k on a fish... in my world its just crazy. You can spend your money on whatever you want, but that doesnt mean your not nuts. My mother-in-law thinks Im crazy because I spent 139.00 on a fish. 10k on a fish...C'mon Man.

Whether or not something is expensive depends on two things:

1. How much you personally value the "something."
2. How much money you have. $5 is a lot if you're broke. For some people $10K is pocket change.

In my case, I won't ever be able to afford such a fish. Well... maybe if I sell a kidney.

Im with the you guys, thats a ton of money, especially for people like me who dont make that much in 6 months, but if i found a fish that intrigued me and gave me a great deal of joy to keep, then i would be more than willing to work hard to save the money up, and that would make it all the more enjoyable knowing i had to sacrifice to get that fish. So if someone can pull that kind of money out of their couch cushions, or if they have to work and save and budget for 3 years to afford it, i dont think its crazy if thats what they want to do with their money. The point of having money is to enjoy the things you like in life, and whether its cars, sports souveniers, nike shoes, watches, fine wine, cigars or fish, thats what we should be allowed to spend our money on, without worrying that somebody in an online forum is going to assume were rich OR crazy. Theres a large difference in rich, crazy, and passionate. IMO

hey they knocked off 5K, whats the big deal? :)

Edited to add, I'd almost swear these angels were a LOT cheaper (relativley) in the SW USA back in the day (I thought like 200 or so)...or could be my memory is bad

I think you would be surprised to find that the majority of these cool/expensive fish are owned by people no more wealthy than you or me ("the average joe").

No offense but are you for real? No more from me on this one. The average Joe........................

Yes, he is for real. That's what I was discussing above. Ever see someone who lives in a hole but pumps thousands and thousands into a souped up car? Would you say they're obviously wealthy? I wouldn't. It's all where you prioritize your money.

If I could, I MIGHT. Its just the terror of your investment going carpet surfing that night that would make me hesitate. LOL

The guy pimping out his ride may not be the sharpest tool in the shed either. Yeah, you can spend your money however you wish and crazy is not the right word... dumb is probably better. Ive done some dumb things in my life too but Ive never dumped 10k on a fish that may or may not live.
