Yesterday my yellowtail damsel died suddenly. My o. clowns seemed and still LOOK perfectly fine but this morning when I tried feeding them they both weren't eating......help?
I tested the water yesterday and got 0 for ammonia/nitrite/nitrate, and did a pwc

In case it's a bacterial/parasitic thing would it be safe to freshwater dip them?
Also would it be a bad idea to put them in a 100% new batch of saltwater?

Give them some time...in my opinion, it's too soon to tell if there IS anything wrong with them...How's their breathing? Do they look stressed in any way?

thank you for the fast reply

time for what? I've had them for just under a year and this is very unlike them :( The damsel showed no exterior signs off sickness either until the day-of, where he was breathing very hard and later the same day he died

Check your alkalinity, ph. Good params are in my sig.
Doublecheck your salinity.
Take a sample to the lfs if you don't have the tests. If you have stringy poop, any sort of symptom, bet on bacterial. If you see salt-like dots on the fish, ich, a parasite, but I'm betting on bacterial. Putting them in quarantine, away from rock and sandbed and treating with something like Maracyn or other broad-spectrum antibiotic might help them.
