Ocellaris looks like Percula

I walked into a fish store in my neighborhood and saw they recently got a shipment of wild caught Ocellaris clowns. A couple of them had the eyes that looked like A. Percula. I've read that Percula and Ocellaris do not overlap in the wild but these ones are interesting. Just look at the eyes of the clowns on top of each picture.

Those are all ocellaris, from their looks I would say from Indonesia.
Personally I like the ones from the Philippines better.

As for the eyes - I don't go by that as I don't think it is really a reliable distinguisher.
Usually percula are significantly different, not just in color but also in behavior and personality.

The eye color is reliable in person, IME. Photograph of the fish especially with flash, or even ambient light, at certain angle will cause Ocellaris eyes to look like Percular eyes.
Those are beautiful Ocellaris. I am so tired of deformed fish, I would love to get me a pair of those.

I want a pair of ocellaris too, whether wild or designer. I'm slowly trying to psych myself up for a second tank because I already have a pair of Perculas.

That's the issue with clownfish - you need a new tank for each new pair.
Following that path in the past I ended up with over 30 tanks and the hobby became a daily work...

I try my hand at breeding and ended up with over 1000 babies. Took me 2 years to get rid of all the babies. Next time I limit my baby to 1 batch and cull them early

Lol to be honest you are all better off buying from BZA. They carry wild Ocellaris clowns at half the shipping cost.
