6 to 6.5 inches of water from the very bottom of the skimmer.I just got an Octo Extreme 160 and know nothing about how it works. Mine sits in my sump in 9 inches of water, but now I'm reading in this thread that it works best in 6 to 6.5 inches of water from the base of the skimmer, the amount of water from the base of my skimmer is only 4.5 inches.
I was cleaning my Octo extreme 200 today and when I took out the PPW the little plastic key inside the pin wheel was broken off. I had to switch back to the original pin wheel. I have been running the PPW for about a year so I guess that good. Any one know if there are any new pin wheels out that are better or should I just order another PPW.

ok, it is time for me to purchase the new skimmer. Looking at a Super Reef Octopus 5000 int for a 180 gallon with a 60 gallon sump and a 10 gallon fuge.
Do you think this is too big for this setup?
