Official Innovative Marine Owners Thread

I just picked up an IM Nuvo Nano 24 for my wife. I am putting an AI Vega over it for lightning, but I am undecided on skimmers.

Many people do not seem to like the IM skimmers, and IM does not list which model Skimmate works on the Nano 24 anyway. I was leaning towards a Tunze model, but I would like confirmation from someone running it that the 9002 or 9004 actually fit in the compartments on this tank.

Anyone with experience want to chime in?

My tune 9004 fits perfectly. And it works good.

I have a 9004 in an IM38. works great and is flush with the top of the tank. I didn't like the im skimmer sticking out the top.

That's EXACTLY why I got the 9004 for my 38. Then I heard it works better than IM's skimmer.

Hi guys, brand new IM38 owner here! I am very new to this hobby and I am just slowly learning all about it. I have 1 butterfly fish, 1 firefish and a couple of Frogspawn corals. On boxing day, I went out to buy a Tunze 9004 skimmer so I am glad to see that it works well with the IM38.

I have a Nuvo 38 that's been running for 7 months now. I replaced the IM skimmer with a tunze 9004 and it works amazing. Also running a Jaebo WP-25 wavemaker at half power and found some cool octopus drawer pulls for the stand. Getting some chaeto next week for the fuge.
I'll get a pic up as soon as I figure out tapatalk.

Beautiful Tanks. I'm looking at getting the Nuvo 38 and I'm trying to pick out my equipment. Can someone with a Nuvo 38 tell me the INSIDE dimensions of the chambers in the back. I want to make sure my skimmer will fit.

Thanks to all. I can't wait to get mine.

I know this was posted over 6 months ago but I have two of theses fixtures the 36" ones on my 36g bowfront and they grow sps and any other coral you can think off, heck I had two take off the optics off and try to dim them cause they bleached some acros. All in all I would recommend them if you don't mind not having a dawn and dusk effect for there price you can't ask for more.

Please help guys I made a thread before I found this one, I have the opportunity to buy a used 38 with skimmer and AI nano fixture and stand for 400$ is this a good deal? If I buy it what should I look for before hand, inspection wise as it'll be used? Will one AI unit be sufficient for sps? What upgrades do you guys recommend for it? I'm very excited I've always wanted a IM nuvo and I really want to bite the hook!

That's a heck of a deal. Look closely for scratches. Nuvo glass is somewhat soft. Also do a fill test before you buy it
