Official Innovative Marine Owners Thread

Hello everyone!
I have been looking around for the perfect LED fixture. It seems I cant find something interesting and the few I found are either ULTRA expensive or lack buying options (size etc).

I have the stock IM Nuvo 16g 8w SKYYE clams which look very very cool over my tank. I bought a Kessil a150 which I returned mainly because it was noisy. Now Im looking into a LED fixture hopefully similar to the IM 8w SKYYE clams but more powerful.

What I have found is ELOS e-lite S3, Lani-Led (which in my opinion is the best looking fixture by far) and lastly aquaPAD.

Do you guys have any other suggestions?

I highly recommend the Maxspect Razor for the IM 16. It's a perfect match and great light IMO.

Ghost vs old model IM skimmer?

Ghost vs old model IM skimmer?

Can anyone say yet if the new IM Ghost skimmer is worth swapping for the old IM skimmer? Is it any quieter? less micro bubbles after cleaning? Easier to clean?

Can't comment in the older model, but the ghost isn't too bad. Some pump rattle. Some mb on startup. started producing skimmate in a day. It's fussy to get going, but once it's dialed in, it's not bad. Hides well too. I have the mid size in my 40.

I've read a lot of people were disappointed in it, but in my tank, it's doing what it's supposed to do!

I agree. A little noisy, but as stated before, it seems like it is quieting down. Mine was skimming pretty much right away and I am pulling some good stuff out

I wrapped some poly filter and floss and packed it on the output side of the skimmer so I hardly had any mb. I would do the ghost again or the aquamaxx

Curious. Anyone running the IM reactor? GFO, carbon, or MB?
It looks to be nicely painless...

I am running it. I am using GFO. Very easy to use and great for the tank. Make sure you mark with either a knife or tape, so you know when the reactor is open at the bottom. You will see it!

What does a "little noisy" translate to? Is it obnoxious?

Anyone know whats up with the Nuvo 24? I know they had problems with cracking, but I saw some pictures where the glass thickness was increased.

That was over a year ago but I can't see to find any in black.

From what I can dig up, it looks like the Nuvo 24 is being replaced by the Fusion 30L. Seems like they wanted to get away from the curved glass.

On another note, what material do they use for the black divider in these tanks? Is it glass or acrylic?

What happens if you don't fill both the front and back at the same time? Will the divider start to bend?
