Good call. I upgrade my pump on my fusion 40 with the eheim 2000+. I am pleased with how the tank is coming along. I need to get some pics up!

If you had to do this again, would you consider the plus 3000? Need more filtration circ in my tank and don't know if 100gph increase will do it.
Still have an mp10 for cross flow...just think I'm not moving enough water through the filtration.

No....i would have stuck with the +2000, I believe the +3000 is a little bigger so it wouldnt even fit in the back. I believe i have enough flow and along with my mp10 i really dont have an issues with it. Seems good to me

thanks for pointing out the size diff. I hadn't even looked at that spec!

So how far down do you have the MP power head?
I'm working on fine tuning everything. My MP is a little above half way and centered. I was considering lowering it to center to increase bottom flow somewhat.

Very important to look at the specs! I had to assemble some of the pump at the bottom of the return.

I have mine about 8 inches down and 50% on crest mode. Since the +2000 has more out put, I moved my return nozzles in different directions to create different flow. Lowering will help move water, took me a while to not effect the sand.

At the moment, don't have anything that requires high flow. One guy on here has two mp10s running and loves his flow.

Focusing more now on my daughters new puppy at the moment ( whose idea was it to give a 19 month old an English Labrador retriever???? )

I will probably get more coral once the new family member is house trained

Good luck with that! I'm sure once the pup is housebroke, it'll be a fine addition to your family. I can't imagine life without a dog...we have rescue Beagles..and multiple Parrots..its never quiet in our home..

Finally got my Reef Radiance Lumentech 120 on my 40. All I can say is, WOW!
Apex controllability, check....lots of power, check, clean color, check.
I know this post is useless without photos and I will get some up soon....I'm just in awe at the moment...

Anyone have a problem setting up the stand?
I had a hell of a time setting up the stand for my fusion 40. I couldn't get one door to align properly. It kept leaving a big gap at the top and barely any room for it to move at the bottom. I ended up making my own holes .

6 month old nuvo16, ai vega, mj1200 return, wp10 pump, sps dominant...just broke everything down and sold the tank. Two weeks later the tank cracked in the middle of the night with the new owner while she was cycling new sand/rock

Ouch! Too many horror stories like this forced me to buy the apex leak detector..not that I'd get home in time to save everything, but for the advance warning....I also have security cameras nearby that will catch it if it happens to me...fingers crossed it doesn't...

If money was no object..yes, kessils ,or ai, or razor, etc. You could always look at Reef Radience or reef breeders leds I have the RR and love it. More power than you'll ever need and good value.

Wow I'm glad I found this thread. I've got a lot of reading to do.

Just ordered a 30L from BRS and should be here right after Labor Day. I had major issues with my overflow on a Glasscages 50 gallon is the reason for the 30L. I tried to install my own overflow with silicone and so the IM takes over and fits right on the GC's 36" stand! whew
