Official Innovative Marine Owners Thread

Wow nice stuff!

Here are my latest photos. I think it's important to point out that this tank had no cycle time, is growing really colorful corals, and is doing it all with stock flow, an ATI T5 fixture, a Tunze skimmer, and phosphate remover. That's it.

Hey everyone!

I just started my 38 last week. Here is the build thread, and an obligatory fts below:

<a href="http://s243.beta.photobucket.com/user/hahaiminflorida/media/IMG_0662_zpsf1dece2d.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff80/hahaiminflorida/IMG_0662_zpsf1dece2d.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo IMG_0662_zpsf1dece2d.jpg"/></a>

The tank is still running completely stock as of now, with a 4x 24w T5 fixture. Upgraded bulbs, an ATO, skimmer and fuge light will be coming soon, but in the meantime, everything is running well.

Hope to this thread pick up again. I got my 30g set up and am looking forward to continued success with it. Very young only a couple weeks in.

Anyone interest in a skyye tablet 30 watts white in south florida 150obo

I just set up my Nuvo 38
-40 lbs live sand
-35 lbs live rock
-EcoTech Radion Pro
-EcoTech mp10 (ordered)
-Tunze 9004

I'll post pictures on Monday if I can remember.

So the live sand bag says it doesn't need to be cycled. And the LR came from a nice quality LFS. Should I pull the trigger on any fish yet?

Also, I think I want a reactor, what are nuvo owners using? And what are they putting in the reactors?

thisis on my 38g. I used 1/16" cable and ferrules from Home Depot.

I'm toying around with settings, but I have my UV all the way up....that's the most important thing.

Anyone running a Radion on their 30 or 38G? If so how did you mount it? What settings are you running?
I am running a radion on my 38. Still cycling but I am running one of the pre-fab ecotech settings. Max color I think it's called. I did the ceiling mount.
After I am ready for live stock I'm sure I will change the Radion settings.

Ready to pull the trigger on the Nuvo 38. But i am having a difficult time choosing with LED lighting i want and how to mount it. Hanging it from the ceiling and from the wall is not an option. I am leaving towards the AI units ( the sol or the vega ) but hate how the mount it comes with puts the light parallel to the tank and not horizontally across which in my opinion would give better spread. The JBJ unibody looks good, but i feel like I will have more control over the lights with an AI or Radion Unit. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

jonnyeatworld, I'm having the same issue. My Nuvo 38 is coming on Monday and I still haven't picked a light. Everything else was so easy to choose, but lighting is impossible. I too don't want to mount to ceiling or wall, and I don't care for the lights that clamp on the back of the tank. All these seem to spill light all over the wall behind them. I'm actually thinking about the Marineland Reef Capable LED fixture, which is on sale at drsfosterandsmith.com right now. Seems like a reasonably priced solution at least for now.

I'm getting a little light spillage onto the walls, but nothing annoying. My wife was very picky when picking equipment, since we'd been out of the hobby for several years, mostly cuz my equipment was annoying her. Now, she's all happy with everything.

Also, I wouldn't dare buy any other light than what I have. It makes my GSP glow (bc the UV bulbs in the Pro). Can't beat it.

See my pic above at the top of this page.

Also see this guy's setup, might be more like what you want.

Hey fellow IM owners. Got my 38 set up today and this is too funny....I put the filter baskets in and they keep floating away! Anyone else have this problem with their Nuvo? Are the baskets supposed to clip on or something? I guess I'll double them up on one side for now so they're nice and snug. Gonna do that anyway when the skimmer arrives.
