I would be interested in vice president position. Thank you for any and all support!

The most important roles:
1 - Treasurer - you need someone responsible, who knows the ByLaws (and will be sure all expenditures will be made in accordance with them), who knows the tax laws and will take the heat when they are not followed. You don't want someone who will use clubs funds to pay for a wedding or a funeral. Afterall, CTARS is a corporation - a non-profit one at that.

2 - Public Relations Officer - This person works with area clubs and helps organize trips like the ones in years past to Atlantis Aquarium. They also work with the local stores and businesses to create "Club Days" and keep the industry informed as to what the club is doing. This person gets the raffle prizes. In past years, the club has been able to raffle of things like Hanna PO4 meters and Tunze pumps at regular monthly meetings. There was one where we raffled off an Aquatinics 6 bulb T5 light fixture (worth over $500).

3 - Secretary - This person has to keep all the Board Meeting Minutes and be sure that the ByLaws are up to date and filed regularly with the Secretary of The State (must be done at least every 3 years)

4 - President - Sets up the monthly meetings

5 - Vice President - Backup the President

I would like to nominate Emery Messier (emessier) for Treasurer. He was President and Treasurer of Jewett City Sports Center for 10 years as well as a founder and chairman of Quinebaug Valley Chapter Ducks Unlimited which is a preservation of wetlands for waterfowl. He has also been involved in varies businesses so I believe he already has a vast understanding in how his club responsibilities would work and need to be handled. As most of you also know, he is always willing to help out out with a hand when possible and has a great deal of knowledge in our hobby for someone who has only just gotten into it recently.

I would really like to see a Public Relations Officer voted in this time...we are desperately in the need of one and in addition, operating without a one could be a violation of our organizations current structure.

Here is a strong second from me.

These people also NEED to be present at club meetings. Good or bad

I think this position was made for Rwinfrey...so I would like to nominate him if he is interested.

I agree, if he's interested, I think he would be perfect. He did a wonderful job getting items for us for CMAC. What do you say Rwinfrey?

I definitely support this nomination as well :)

Anyway we can add a section on the voting here? Would like to make a position that leads people or does it him or her self to take care of the lutz tank. If so I would like to nominate my self :)
Would like to see the tank getting touched by a member once a week at least ever othere week.
