Let me know cause I don't think I'm going to try it:(

I would be willing to at least taste it. I'll be happy to pass on my opinion! ;)

Thanks! I'm one who likes to keep my dinner and dessert seperate:lol:

You guys have no idea. I marinate the meat by vacuuming it in a canister with chocolate espresso rub, hot sauce, mustard, fresh garlic, strong beer, etc.

The resulting meat is absolutely etherial. There is no way to describe how good it tastes. Maybe Sherman can chime in with a description.

So D, did you use any silicone in your project?

Heh! I tried to but I couldn't. Crackling frontal lobe is the best I could do! I'm wrapping up my business activities for the day. Should be done around 11:00. I got an email from Eric, new stock in today. Gimme a call when you get free.

I'm waiting on your test results regarding "Carpe Narem"'s tank situation J. Get on with it already! BTW, bowling looks good. Tomorrow night they have "Rock & Bowl" from 9:00pm-1:00am. We want (are going) to go!

Well, no need to post it here right?

I sent him an email as follows:

Ammonia...
Tap Water: .25
Fresh SW: .25
Tank Water: .25
DI FW: .15
RO FW: .20
My SW: 0.0

So we can conclude that when you made that Fresh SW batch, it was not properly filtered as we discussed with you. Two recommendations are to contact your community water liaison and find out why there is ammonia in your tap water, and perhaps get a battery of tests done, as well as re-doing your water purifying system. You should be getting annual tests done anyway. I am sure that is a legal requirement in this state. You should have received a full water quality disclosure when you bought your house as well.

I would by-pass the pressure tank when you make water for your tank, and collect it in a Rubbermaid trash can that is mixed via a powerhead and aged for a couple or more days. The unfortunate thing is that you were trying to solve a problem with bad water. I would NOT do any more water changes until you have squared away these issues, and I would dump the batch you have by the tank.

Hope this helps you get things straight. And unfortunately, you cannot set up a QT to save the corals in there. You might be able to add an ammonia detoxifier to your system to aid in helping the reef while you work out the water issues.

BTW, that Corazon you brought over was great, but I don't think we had enough, as I am still able to walk quite well.

Ha ha! I keep trying to tell you that it's QUALITY and not QUANTITY that counts. Although the combination of the two is VERY good!

Oh yeah! I took a look a at my Vortechs today. That wave you wanted to see in my tank with both pumps on is looking good. Stop by if you want to.

Yeah thanks guys for the help today. I picked up some Ammo - Lock too just to make sure the tank's water in there now won't do any more damage. Can't call P.U.D til Monday anyway. This sucks. I mean what the hell !?!

Very sorry to hear about those problems D. Just goes to show you though. Even a vet like you can sometimes over look the obvious. I'm sure you'll get it right soon. Your tank still looks very nice! I can't wait to see it after 6 months!

yeah, i agree. your tank is looking great D.

I'll see it tomorrow Sherman...bed time for me dude! I need my beauty rest. I am going to go on the mat tomorrow at the Dojo.

Well, just a quick update. The floss box is working and over the last two days the water clarity has definitely improved quite a bit. I am very happy with this prototype and will plan to build a specialized box. I have had some splashing so I know I need to mount the floss deeper in the box, and I want to experiment with some more floss. Although I have fairly fine floss, the bottom one is showing quite a bit of residue on its bottom side. So more work to be done there.

Also, I think I have resigned myself to pulling out the longnose hawk. I full researched this fish when I put it in the tank, and have had great luck with it until the last half of this year, but I am becoming convinced that it has decided that my ornamental fish are tasty. I hate to blame it, but there really aren't any other animals to lame. It could be a wrasse of course, or even a red crab. I can't remember if I mentioned it, but when i pulled the rock and anemone out for Vicki, I discovered in the bucket a good sized claw from a red crab.

So what I am going to do is offer the longnose up. I love that fish as it has very interesting behavior, so hopefully it will go to a good home. First dibs go to The Great D. Nguyen. If he doesn't want it, then I will try to find somone else. Maybe even a school?

this is NOT a flame hawk and I have no idea what the agression issues are with those. AFAICT, this longnose is a model citizen. Well except for his taste for mini-lobsters! :)

I agree, but based on my initial research, I felt the flame was a little too not reef-safe. I guess the longnose is as well!

Well, I finally found glycerine locally at our high-end grocery store. It was in the health department and by the looks of it, I am guessing 100% vegetable oil would work just as well. This 4 oz. bottle cost a little over $5, so not savings over getting it from MD.
