OK! Enough chat...Starting a 1000g+ Reef

As the floss loads up with gunk, there may be a risk of the container overflowing. I know you don't like a wet floor in your fishroom. Just something to think about with your official version. At least put a bulkhead up high to take the flow in case the padding gets clogged up and you aren't there.
 
Geez Sherman, no phone call back, but you want to come over for Crown & Weed? That's not love man.

Yeah Marc, I understand. What I plan to do in the real one, is have a slot for overflow into the sump right below. But the reality is, as it loads up, it can flow over the sides of the floss and still be within the container. I could also cut the floss an inch too small around the the edges.

So far, so good.

It doesn't come from Kalifornia anymore! :lol: Actually, I can't do any of that crap. Crown will KILL you (I know a guy who died from it) and weed just makes you lazy and stupid. Or is that lazy and smart? What did Huxley call it? Oh yeah, "SOMA". hehehe...funny thing is that it generates consipiracy theories.

Come on Sherman, I called you twice butt-munch. You doing family crap on Thursday or you wanna marinate a prime rib? I need to pick it up tomorrow if we are. Maybe cook it at your place and eat it at mine? How about we marinate it in Jolly Roger?

We could even smoke it eh? Can you fit a prime rib in your smoker or should I put mine together? OR...we could deep fat fry it!!! Yeah, and stuff it with a Turducken. And slather it with chocolate gravy.

Visited a cool reef today down South. 200g+ running on a pre-beckett ETS. I'll tell you about it when I see you. I picked up a yellow poci from him.
 
SO when I fired up the filter box, my ORP dropped drastically. Got down to 259. I am pretty sure that it was the change in turbulence in the inbound sump that basically flushed all the detritus out of that sump and suspended it in the water column. It is up to 279 right now, but I was a little surprised by the reverse result! Hopefully that will get straightened out today.
 
So here is a pic of the Yelow Poci I picked up from Dan Martinez yesterday. It had a rough ride home as I realized all the water had leaked out of the bag by the time I got home. It does look good though, with nice polyp extension and decent color.

Yup. Cool guy for sure. It's always an issue when you invite "strangers" over, especially for the significant others, but his wife was very nice and didn't bother us.

Sherman and I just had 3 each Victory Storm King Stouts, plus 1 x Jolly Rogers, and then some sweet chili with chopped red onions and grated cheese...mmmmmm, mmmmm...GOOD! I love being me.

So we will try to get up to your place this weekend and figure out what is going on with your corals. There is some probability that you have experienced a cycle, although I know you don't think that is the issue.

You know what J? I've had a rough few days. Non of which is appropriate to post about in this forum. Please forgive me. At least I made it without anyone calling 911!

Happy Thanks Giving to you and your family Jonathan. My tank got delivered yesterday so I'm so excited to get this up and running by the weekend.

And Sherman, it could be a lot worse. You have it good. Your house is paid off, you have a beautiful wife, and at least one of the kids will turn out OK. You guys buy a new car every six months, I have personally witnessed 5 skimmers in your system this year, and no one will ever try to rob your house.

Anthony, thanks for the well wishes, but really, I don't think I like Thanks Giving much. Usually I get the house to myself for most of the day, and today, both my wife and kid are home all damn day. It's crampng my style! Your tank looks sweet BTW. I love the "new" look! :D

ORP is back up and I am going to do another vacuum today. And that poci is practically fluffy now. It seems to like my QT tank.

Hey Dahn, what's the story with this weekend? When will you have time for Sherman & I to come up and help trouble-shoot? Message or call so we can set it up. Any day is fine for me, and Sherman has the weekend off too. We have been discussing going down to Portland too to stop in Upscales.

Not "chocolate sauce". Chocolate gravy. Big difference Barry. We sell chocolate meat rubs that make superb marinades and gravies. They are so freakin' good you woldn't believe it.
 
Those ribs over the summer with the chocolate espresso rub were just tooooo good! As far as being strange goes I've been called worse!
